The New House

Me and Blaze were just sitting on the couch, looking for something good to watch, when I got that phone call. The phone rang, and I picked it up. "Hello?" "Hey, is Blaze there?" a female's voice asked. I was a little suprised at this greeting, but handed it to Blaze, who took it and spoke into it. "Hello?" Pause. "Hey, Karen, how are you?" Pause. "It's good to hear from you." Pause. "That was Rapid. He's a good friend of mine." Pause. "Yeah, we did. So why'd you call?" Pause. "Really? Well, good. We needed a house." I ran out to the phone in the kitchen and grabbed the phone and turned it on, and leaned my ear close to it, and I could hear everything they said. "So, what's the house like?" "It's pretty big, but it's a bit old. But you guys could fix it up, right?" "I dunno. Rapid's not the kind of guy who, well, works." "Well, you're smart. You'll think of a way." "How?" I heard the other girl giggle. "You know..." "DAMMIT, KAREN! I would never bribe him, or anyone else, like that!" "Can you think of a better way?" "Well, I do have an idea." "What?" "Well, I get everyone else to help, then he'll feel left out and try to help us." "... that's... cruel. Just think of a way to get him to help that doesn't involve tricking him into doing it." "Fine." "Well, I'll bring the house over tomorrow." "Great, I'll s- wait, what?" "Bye!" Someone hung up. I put the phone down and went back to the couch. She looked up at me and started to say something, but I interupted. "I heard everything." I sat down next to her. "She'll bring it over.... What does that mean?" She shrugged and said, "Well, she could mean the deed to house. And if she does, then..." She leaned against me. "...we get our own house. It'll just be you and me. We can do whatever we want. No Tails stealing your wallet, no Sonic using you to shield him from Amy, and no Cream asking me for money for ice cream." I put an arm around her and said, with a smile, "Just you n' me... you think we could afford a Jacuzzi? Or a pool?" She giggled, and then some wierd, yet somehow soothing noise emitted from Blaze. I looked at her, unable to hide my confusion. "What the hell was th- wait..." I grinned. "Are you purring?" She nodded and nuzzled up against me. Then I had an idea, and reached for her ear. Blaze looked at me, suprised. "Rapid, what are y- oh, that feels good," she started, but then stopped. I was scratching her behind her ear. She sighed, purred louder, and leaned on my lap. I ceased the scratching and then slowly, gently, I stroked her cheek. She lied on her back, head still on my lap, and looked up at me, smiling. I leaned down and kissed her, and she put her arms around my neck and pulled me closer. I lied on my side, right next to her, and we just lied there, happy to be with eachother. It was fun, until we heard "What are you doing?" We looked up and saw Charmy, a young, hyperactive bee I had met from a group called Team Chaotix. I had met him, Vector, a large crocodile who always had his Walkman with him, Espio, a purple chameleon who claims to be a ninja, and Mighty, a black and red armadillo. For some reason, they ignored him, and often forgot his name. Anyway, Charmy saw us on the couch. I let go of Blaze and said, trying to hold back a grin, "I can't tell ya, but do me a favor, would ya? Don't do this to Cream." I could hear the gears grinding in his head as he replied with a cheerful "Okay!" and flew up to Cream's room. "Hey!" I called up to him. "She's with Tails, and I'm pretty sure she's not a hooker!" Blaze didn't find this amusing, but she did grab me and pulled me close to her again. She nuzzled against me again, and whispered, "I can't wait for the new house." "Neither can I," I whispered back. I hugged her close and scratched her behind the ears again. She moaned, but it sounded like she was enjoying it, because she was purring again. I slid my fingers down to her cheek and stroked her. She purred louder, so loud that we heard Amy call down, "Be quiet! Can't I rape Sonic in peace?" Then we heard a door slam. We looked at each other, shrugged, and embraced again. The purring probably soothed her, because she yawned, leaned her head on my shoulder, and fell asleep. Eventually, I fell asleep, still holding Blaze.

*the next morning*

I woke up to find Blaze still sleeping on me. I checked the clock: It was 11:00 A.M. I nudged Blaze gently, whispering, "Wake up." She opened her eyes slowly, yawned, and looked up at me. "Look at the time. We should've gotten up a few hours ago." I pointed at the clock. She saw it, yawned again, and got up. I got up, followed her into the kitchen, and opened the refrigerator, and looked for some soda. Blaze made herself some coffee, took a sip, and said, "Karen should be bringing the deed today." I took a sip of my soda, shuddered a bit as the fizz woke me up a little, and said, "Yeah. But we'd need money for furniture, and we would still have to pay her for the deed. Oh, hey, the Yankees won." I saw the newspaper on the table, and picked it up. "Well," Blaze said, and she leaned closer. "We still have that money from when you were in that band. We could use that," she whispered. I looked at her eyes, and nodded. We heard the doorbell ring. I ran to it, and opened it. I caught a glimpse of someone running away from the house, looking back at me and waving. I hardly saw her, but I saw her face: White fur, with long, maroon-colored hair. I looked down and saw what looked like a medium-sized bird cage, with a model of a house in it. I picked it up and brought it into the kitchen. Blaze saw it, looked disappointed, and said, "Aw, is that it?" I saw tears in her eyes. "So, we don't get a house, we get a model of one." She ran forward and threw her arms around me. I hugged her back, feeling like a f*ckin' idiot. We let go of eachother, and examined the model. I opened the cage door, put my hand in. Next thing I knew, there was a flash of light, and I was shrinking and being sucked into the cage. Blaze screamed and tried to catch me, but it was too late. When I was in the bird cage, I looked at the house: it was old, but it was average sized compared to me. I looked up and saw a gloved hand enter the cage. A few minutes later, Blaze was standing next to me, looking the same size as she was when she was when we were both normal-sized. She looked at the house, wimpered, and embraced me, tears sliding down her face. I gave her some time to calm down, and said, "Well, we might as well check the place out." She gave me a look that said, "Are you f*ckin' crazy?" But she nodded and followed me in. We looked inside. It was like a freakin' mansion, but dustier and a little beat up. We looked around and found that it only had one bedroom, but, to our delight, it had a king-sized bed. After a while, we walked out the door and looked up at the cage door. Blaze looked at me and said, "Any ideas?" I shrugged and said, "I'm guessing the same way we got in." I walked over to the bars and started climbing. As soon as I got to the cage door, I pulled myself up. "Come on up!" Blaze hesitated a moment, and followed me. Once she climbed up, I made an "after you" motion with one hand, and she jumped out, and soon I followed her out. There was a flash of light, and next thing we knew, we were normal-sized. Blaze looked at me, grinned, and I grinned back, and called "Tails! Cream! I got something for you!" They rushed down the stairs. I jerked my head towards the caged house, and Blaze followed me out. A few seconds later, we heard them scream, and I looked at Blaze. So, when do we order the furnature?" I don't know," she replied. "But we'll get the others to help us fix it up." We grined at each other, and sat down on the couch, and we looked through some magazines, looking for some furnature, comparing prices and checked for anything good. A few minutes later, Shadow walked down and saw us. "W-what are you doing?" He asked, trying not to laugh. "Just check the model of the house in the kitchen," I said. He did, and a few seconds later, we heard, "Heh heh. Hey guys! look at th-" and what sounded like a little girl screaming.
