Strangers

Two Strangers pass each other on the sidewalk.
Not even looking in each others eye.
Their hearts break when they feel the passing wind of the other.
They keep walking like they never knew each other.
They try to live their lifes like they never loved at all.
She tries not to think of him while she holds hands with the other,
He tries to forget about her while he holds the other in his arms.
She remembers his sweet sounding voice,
and he remebers how he loved the smell of her perfume.
They try to convince themselves that the other has moved on,
that they should do the same,
but they cant.
If only they both knew their love is still strong.
She cries in the night
wanting him to hold her once again.
She picks up the phone,
taking the first step.
She dials the number, and holds the phone to her ear
listening to the ringing on the other end.
On the 3 ring, he answers, knowing it is her,
but he doesnt get the chance to speak.
She hangs up in fear,
fear that he doesnt love her back.
The worlds greatest lovers,
now they are strangers.
He wants to talk to her so bad,
but doesnt,
in fear of being torn apart.
Two strangers pass each other on the sidewalk,
not knowing that the other loves them more than anything,
they just keep walking.
So they live the rest of their days loving each other in secret.

A poem about two people that once loved, then they fell apart. What they dont know is that both still love the other, but refuse to tell them.

Damn that's so sad :(

Been there, done that. It's really never fun. And it doesn't get better.
Are you writing out of personal experience/hope? Or just as the mood struck you...

Great piece.
Keep it up!
