Halvrod Korutzjei is the white-mage featured in my short story "Broken," from the Shadow Blade universe, which you can read here. In spite of all of the impressive abilities that come with having mage's blood, Halvrod faces one great challenge: he is mute, and has been ever since a blood-mage tortured him and cut out his tongue in the process. Perhaps the one saving grace for him is that all mages are trained in an intricate sign language that can be used in lieu of speech for magical incantations. This helps Halvrod, but of course a non-mage's understanding of incantation sign is limited, and in most cases he must rely on another mage to interpret for him, either by reading his signs, or the thoughts straight from his mind.

Because I couldn't make up my mind, I've decided to leave it up to you, and I'm interested to hear from each of you--what do you think Halvrod is saying here?

Please do not critique this heavily; I wasn't drawing it with perfect precision in mind.

Rather, I drew this mainly to show what the Erchandahak tribesmen wore during the Age of Visions...as you may recall from Shadow Blade proper, I mentioned that some of the current Aramansch fashion customs are simplified versions of old tribal outfits. Halvrod lived somewhere from 500-600 years before Shadow Blade took place, and in his outfit I hope you will be able to see some of where the Guardians' outfits originated, as well as that of the modern Aramansch citizen (pictured here).

Radical JoJo Says:

Omigosh. His face bling rocks my world.
And...are those feathers on his cloak? Awww, man...too cool. I love all the details you put into his outfit. I'd love to see this at a larger size. *Hint hint, nudge nudge.*

...I think he's saying he'd like a tunafish sandwich on rye, extra mayo.

I agree with the above.. lovely detailing on the head and the face looks awesome (you did very well with the shading!). The overall dress design is very interesting. If anything, you might think about the pose next time - this one is fine for showing the design, but if you want it to look more "alive", you could try some assimetry. I usually turn one foot, so it faces forward, and the other one sideways, or something like that. But that's just a thought; I like the idea and the description above all
