Assignment from my Digital Illustration class to create a poster on the theme of the deindustrialization of America.

I decided to do a comic...since I do that. It's a metaphor. These little zombie dudes (Red Guy & Blue Guy, as I've named them) are anthropomorphized economies. Red Guy is the US economy. Blue Guy is foreign economies. The balloons are manufacturing and industry.

The guys were drawn in ink, then scanned. Everything was assembled in Photoshop CS3. All photography is my own.
...At 40 layers, this is my most ambitious digital creation to date.

THIS IMAGE WAS 100% MADE IN AMERICA.

SailorPoipoi Says:

That comic is an excellent example of the current economics but the cuteness of it helps ^.^

elle Says:

Haha, that is a great analogy! Poor little red.

Yammo Says:

Zombienomics?

It's also a good metaphor because balloons pop really easy, y'know?

Tumult Says:

OH MAN they're so cute! I wanna take em all home. :___: The image is so well put together, so many textures and colors without looking cluttered. Nyaaahhh.
Bwahaha poor lil red guy. *catches him*

Backwards Twin 2 Says:

Great analogy! I love the textures and the like

Pumpernickel Says:

This is the sort of political cartoon commentary I can get behind.

If by "get behind" I meant, "stand behind and furiously masturbate to its cartoon beauty, then, maybe I was right. Was I right?

Sana Says:

nicely done.

sug chan Says:

That's funny, cute, and simple. It made me laugh. xD

Hikara Productions Says:

EkkOnOmIkS? Is that American for 'we just got screwed over from importing too much and not exporting enough'? Or is it Italian for 'getting rich off of some poor sucker'?
