My Sister's Chamber - Ch. One
"This is gross, guys," came a voice from a little girl, looking up to four other girls, all older than her. Emmy pushed her broom
once more over the cobble stone floor where blood had splattered and pooled. The crimson liquid ran from the tile to it's cracks, only
coming to settle in once more moments after she shoved it away. She whined, "It smells!"
Another girl, tossing forgotten miscellaneous organs together to be picked up and carried out to the dogs, spoke up. "It's the
smell of death. Get used to it, Emmy. It'll be the last thing you smell before you die just the same."
The eldest stood, the fourteen-year-old girl set her hands on her hips and frowned. Being covered to her elbows in the
coagulating fluid, this only smeared the repulsive blood onto her pitch black, knee-length dress. She tossed her head to rid her face of
childish blonde curls. "Mazula, be nicer to Emmy. She's still young." Escalina tried to calm the tension. It wasn't any of their fault they
got stuck cleaning the Death Chamber.
Emmy stomped her foot on the ground, blood splashing up at Misty's nearby face. Misty closed her eyes and sighed, trying
to smother her frustration and disgust. She mumbled, "I hope I don't go this way."
Terravina only looked to Misty and nodded in agreement. "So do I." She paused then frowned, "Sometimes, I can hear them
beg while we are in bed." Misty shuddered. "Their screams just crawl down the halls at night calling out to nothing but pitch black for
help..."
Emmy glanced down to her maid's outfit while her sisters sloshed random body parts and shredded tissues into a pile. She
was covered in splatters of blood and was getting worried just how her father would react to her coming home so dirty. Then she
glanced to her sisters and realized they were even bloodier then herself. Escalina was especially dirty. Since she didn't have a broom,
she used her hands to toss limbs, and organs alike into the pile in the center of the room. Emmy sighed and went back to work,
shoving a pile of intestines towards the collection.
Moments later Mazula gasped before she turned away from her sisters, suddenly loosing her last meal in a violent spew.
The others stopped and glanced up to see what had triggered her stomach when all of this collecting and shoveling did not, and
Escalina just frowned. Emmy frowned the same and turned around, just staying silent and respecting Mazula.
Escalina stood, emptied her hands of who-knows-what and bent low next to Mazula. She picked up the small head of a new
baby, it's eyes wide as if pleading for it's life, it's face twisted in horror. The girl then tossed it into the pile, respectively tossing the
nearest organ, a good handful of cool gray matter and what looked like a liver or something close in resemblance, atop the grotesque
scene to hide it from the others.
Mazula spat saliva out of her mouth, trying to rid herself of the new vile taste tempting to her regurgitate again. She closed
her eyes and sighed softly before standing. Misty and Terravina had, of course, stopped discussing and contemplating just how they
were going to die to survey the scene. Emmy whined, "Wasn't that...?"
"Yes, Emmy. That was Maybelle's," whispered Misty. "Now, please, help us hurry and get done and out of here."
The baby had been born the week before to one of their father's slaves and just hours earlier they had found Maybelle's
body as well.
Time crawled by until Escalina finally stood up and brushed off her paws like she could have gotten the now gelatin-like blood
off of them. "Okay, girls. We're almost done." She watched as the others stood upright, Misty arching her back and causing it to make
soft popping noises along her spine as she stretched her arms high above her head and twisted her body.
Escalina stepped to the side and then walked over towards the door, speaking softly to a guard that had been keeping watch
of them. After a moment, he nodded his head and turned to leave. Escalina turned back to her sisters, standing by the door still.
Terravina growled a bit. "I'm sick and tired of this. I'm simply tired of cleaning this room day after day, only to wonder just
who is going to clean me up." She threw down her broom in her tantrum before her eery bright orange eyes set in on the others while
a smooth hand flicked back midnight tinted strands of her long hair, blood silently creeping in to the pitch black of it.
Emmy whimpered and glanced down, moving to open her mouth once more, before Escalina cut it off by forcing a smile and
searching for words of comfort. "If we just all watch out for one another, no one will end up like this. Do you think a guard is going to
bother with five snappy girls when he could get the pleasure he wants of painful howls from a much more submissive, pitiful soul?
Just think about it, if we piss 'em off enough, he just might get Pirigrim in trouble for not 'training' us correctly." She ended with a
smirk, trying to coax her sisters into higher spirits.
Emmy was clueless about the meaning of Escalina's speech or just what malicious thoughts were bubbling up in their minds,
simply smiling when she saw Misty and Terravina to do the same thing. Her childish giggle escaped her while her smile widened.
Misty chuckled softly at Emmy's ignorant charm, turning her head to glance at Escalina. "It'd be a sight to see Pirigrim get it,
hu-" Her words were cut off when the guard returned, tossing a few pails to their feet.
The girls stopped to look at the guard and only nodded to him, setting to work on filling the pails and carrying them out.
Only when the sounds of the feasting dogs died down did the girls take their eyes off of the endless pit encasing Hell's
creatures in it's black depths.
Little Emmy had reached up and taken the hand of Terravina, slowly rubbing her eyes with a sleepy fist as she yawned wide
as they crossed the Death Chamber once more. The guard nodded to the girls. He stepped aside and let them continue, only to follow
right up behind them.
Escalina looked to one side, and then to the other, taking in just who was how dirty. Why she did this, she didn't know. Their
work was always revolting and filthy and sure enough, everyone was stained with the eye-catching color of the life giving fluids they
spent sloshing around and cleaning up all night. Now early morning, it had set in good in the past few hours.
"How about we hit the baths first, to clean up real quick, then catch a few hours of sleep before tomorrow's chores?"
Escalina inquired.
"Don't use that kind of talk Emmy, you're a big girl."
Terravina lightly nodded to Escalina when she knew Escalina looked her way.
r "You know well what Pirigrim will do if you don't come home presentable, Emmy." This time, it was Misty's voice.
When Emmy gave Terravina a strange look as if to question what Misty was trying to say, she smirked. "Do you know what
happens when you don't come home clean? Hm?"
Emmy nodded this time, cringing as memories came back to her. Once she opened her maw to share the memories, Escalina
interrupted again. Everyone knew what happened and they didn't need to be reminded.
"Then why don't we go take a bath, okay? We'll get all nice and clean real fast, and it will help you go to sleep."
Escalina only got another nod do they headed up the stairs and into the shower rooms.
"Don't be so hard! You're pulling! Ouch!" Emmy continued to whine as Mazula went through Emmy's hair with her fingers,
trying to straighten it out. Emmy had washed herself quickly, obviously wanting to go to bed, so the other girls were all still showering.
Mazula, on the other hand, only took just as long as Emmy.
Mazula sat on a bench in the center of the clouded room, Emmy sitting on her lap. Both were nude, of course, seeing as they
had just taken a bath. But they faced the closed glass doors of three more showers where the silhouettes of the other three could be
seen washing and scrubbing to try and rid themselves of the blood. Especially the scent of death.
"Emmy, be good for Mazula," Terravina gently coaxed.
"But she's pulling!"
"She's not trying to, I promise." This time Escalina had spoke.
Just as Emmy was convinced she should sit still and it'd all be done faster, the silent Misty stepped out from her shower.
Misty had sighed softly and ran her hands through her own hair, squeezing the water free of her long hair. She then spoke to her twin.
"Escalina...?"
Escalina gave a soft, "Hm?" of acknowledgment.
"Where are we sleeping tonight?"
"I... Am not entirely sure."
"I wish Pirigrim would give us back mom's chamber."
Now Terravina joined in. "It doesn't make sense for him to take your mother's chamber away and turn it into a guest
bedroom after she died. Who in the hell would actually visit and stay?"
Escalina sighed. "Maybe we can slip over to the Slave Pens and go find an entertainment room again. Last time, we were lucky
to find one with a lock."
Misty sat down, beginning to groom her own hair. "Yeah, and no one bothered us. It might work if we get back here early."
Even two hours of sleep sounded good right now to the two girls.
Escalina slowly stepped out of her shower now, squeezing the water from her hair as well. Moments after that the other
shower could be heard turning off, and Terravina had stepped out.
Mazula had finished grooming Emmy and she turned around, setting her chin on her sister's shoulder and closing her eyes.
Emmy was all tired out now.
Escalina decided to do her grooming once her hair dried, knowing it would be easier to work everything out after sleep
instead of before and after. She just didn't have time. Misty seemed to do the same.
So the girls sat and waited for Terravina, Escalina taking Emmy from Mazula. "I will take her tonight."
Mazula nodded a bit as she stood, placing the little Emmy in Escalina's lap and saluted her sisters in a half-hearted farewell.
When she got the okay from the others, she turned and left silently.
After a moment Terravina then stood and nodded to them, lightly placing a hand on Misty's shoulder. "Hey... Smile. We all have
to," Terravina teased before she left as well.
Escalina glanced to her twin, before the two glanced down to their little sister.
It was Misty who broke the silence. "How come their mothers are alive, and it was our's that had to die?"
Escalina sighed softly. "I know. Life isn't always fair. But if we just stick together then things will look up for us, Misty." Escalina
stood slowly, cradling Emmy behind the neck and beneath the knees.
Misty slowly rose and sighed, getting to her feet at her own leisure. An d when Escalina left the warmth of the steamy room,
Misty did right behind her.
From there it was only a short, but cold, walk out of the mansion and over to the pens right off of the mansion's grounds.
And once inside, the girls stole back into a room usually occupied a slaver and slave girl of his choice, locking the door and hiding
themselves in a corner where the fires still lightly smoldered.
