Through the Shadows

Nyx and Sdjurni race through the shadows of her world into the dawn of his, two kindred spirits united by all that sets them apart.

Ah, finally! This piece felt like it took forever. The first two sketches I tried turned out horrible and I had a hard time getting Nyx right in this one. Her legs started out too short, but they look okay now. I'm not too happy with her mane or tail, though. And I think I messed up the reflections of her feet. I think Sdjurni turned out pretty good, though I didn't achieve what I wanted with his color, so I'm going to have to play around with that more. I had to do a lot of fixing of the background too, because the scanner decided to add a pattern to it. It looks a ton smoother in person. Usually, my scanner does better. By the way, I went through an entire black pencil on that background! Literally. Now I need to get another new one! So, anyway, hope you all like.

Anyway, done for *Nyxen's contest, my character with hers. Sdjurni is copyrighted to me, Nyx to *Nyxen.

Feel free to critique, but I think I am done with this! I spent too much time on it anyway.
