A Lonely Wanderer

A lonely wanderer

Late at night a Weevil cries,
As another loved one withers and dies.
The grief and the pain tears apart,
The Weevils torn and broken heart.

Lost hurt, injured and alone,
Strangers try to comfort the Weevil as it moans.
Through tears and anguish the Weevil groans,
Trapped in a cruel world, far away from home.

Gasping for breath the devil appears,
Strange noises and muttering is all that she hears.
Clutching her loved one, as though she would fall,
She hated this world, she hated them all.

The devil approaches, in braces and coats,
Calling her name, and trying to coax.
She throws her head back, looks up at the sky,
Calling the angles, who live on up high.

For a moment she thinks he sees,
The hurt and the anguish as she falls to her knees.
Through deep blue oceans she wanders alone,
Searching for a place that she can call home.

Drugged and in pain, the lights flicker and die.
No one can hear a Weevils lonely cry.
