FULL VIEW!! for atmospheric effect.
First this started as a sketch (which is in my gallery here: http://dyun.deviantart.com/art/A-Lake-64134274 ) Since a couple of people suggested color and I agreed, I decided to paint it in Corel Painter with Pastels. I didn't go overly detailed as I usually do. I was tempted....but....I wanted something more relaxed.
A crystal clear lake, a boat tied to shore, a black bull and man. The two companions rest under the shade of a tree and watch the small waves wash up on shore. The boat gently rocks back and forth, the leaves above their heads rustle. Maybe birds sing somewhere in the distance, their calls echoing behind them. When the summer sun becomes too unforgiving, they can kill their thirst in the lake.

Cool! Did you ever read the book The Story of Ferdinand when you were little? This reminds me of the story so much.
