It lives! It LIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES!!

I took the idea for this short from a scene in Men In Black, if you didn't guess (or read the credits). This is also EASILY my most advanced piece of animation to date. Because... well... there's actual animation IN IT. In my last short the only thing that moved was the scenery and the mouths. So, keeping that in mind, go a little easy on me, and, enjoy!

lol nicely done

Mr OMA Says:

IT LIVES INDEED.

Well, aside from the gap between Wil's legs and his back as he's walking towards the thing, not bad.

ChibiJaime Says:

It came out really well! Very smoothly done.

I'd say this came together pretty nicely. I like how the ball continues to bounce around during the credits.

My least favorite song on DDR: Mario Mix just made me laugh. You guys are something else when it comes to music choice. xD

ClampX Says:

so this is your final or still working on it?

thats from men in black

Gardius Says:

Not bad. There are a couple things that bother me, though.

First. When your character turns his head he doesn't blink and his head just seems to go from A to B when turning. People blink when they're turning their head or focusing on something else unless they're scared, and just having your character rotate his head without some sort of quirk to it is boring to watch. In terms of the head rotation I would suggest making his head possibly dip a little as he's looking to the right.

Next, during the walk your character has no up and down motion whatsoever. Without it your walk lacks weight. Lastly, there should be some arm movement when he's poking the ball. Even with slight hand movements there's going to be some action coming from the arm.

Overall, it's okay. There are a lot of subtle animation bits that you overlooked and I would suggest you act out this scene in front of a mirror or record yourself doing this, if possible, to catch them all. A little off topic, have you ever heard of a book called "The Animator's Survival Kit" by Richard Williams? If not I would strongly suggest you buy it and give it a read, as it is THE book to read if you plan to persuit animation as a career.
