Dance to the Melody

They move in time to nature's melody, their hooves drum a rhythm to the harmony of the distant birds. The melody flows through them, through the waves that caress the shore, through all the land around them. Nothing can compare to nature's symphony.

Here's the finished piece! I didn't want to do another green grass, blue sky background, so I challenged myself and tried something different. I'm pretty happy with it overall, but this is my first time doing this in so many years. First time since I new anything about art, really. So, Ary and Gypsy frolicking on the beach. I did not draw from a photo, but used various images to double-check my anatomy, and based my background off of an amazing seashore photo, even though they look nothing alike now! There's a few things I'm not too sure that I love, some that could probably use a changing, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.

Done for a contest on deviantART by daughterofthestars, my character with hers. Ary, the big blue one is my mare and I tried for an iridescent coat. I'm not quite sure if I succeeded or not. Gypsy is daughterofthestars's character. Feel free to critique this, but I'm not making any changes to it.
