Yesterday I discovered that I still had two lumps of modeling clay - one red and the second green. I believe they must have been lying in my room for few years, because I've got no idea how did I get them. I didn't want to throw them away so I instead of that I decided to try to make something of them. At first I tried to make an animal, but the clay was very runny and my creatures kept ending in looking as they were from outer space or were touched by some unknow disease. So, I grabed some white modeling clay and, some wire and started to think what could I make out of that. Having so much red clay and so little white one I came with an idea, that I could make a dragon body model somehow similar to those that you can see in biology class. I made the bones and attaced them to the wire. But how miserably I felt, because this was the first time when I was doing a sculpture and I had no idea how it's done. The bones kept falling from the wire and my dragon looked as he had been in a car accident. After about 4-5 hours I finished making the skeleton and started adding the flesh, that took me about 6 hours more. Yes I am very slow. While I was doing that I had no idea about how should it look anatomicaly. I draw dragons, but I don't think when I do it, and now I had to think what is attached to what and how the muscles are formed and held together.
But I am happy how it turned out. I could even say that I am proud of it, because this is my first sculpture. I am thinking of making a stop-camera animation of it turning, but not today, because I am very tired.
And I have another idea to increas my skills in sculpture by making some bigger dragon skulptures, maybe with lights and other things, that would attract people's attention.

For those, that do understant lithuanian I've got a better comment of this work at my blog - [link]

And don't be mad about the mistakes, please >_> I am trying to do my best in english, because it's not my native language.
