This is totally how I understand the whole thing.
I mean, when Lupin tells Harry that Lily rejected James untill they were in their seventh year because that's when James' gotten all mature and stuff - like it just happend over night or something.
And besides.
COME ON, Lily, have some sense of humor
Um yeah, I dunno why I decided she was most miserable in the fourth year. Heh.
