Okay, it's prolli going to be ages before I ever finish this, so, I thought I may as well upload the WIP...
This was started some time back for a classic Sonic contest. First prize was a copy of Secret Rings. Since the theme was classic, I decided to, well, emulate the classic art style since I've been wanting to do that for ages anyway. And since I wanted Metal involved, I decided to use an infamous scene from the classic games =|
Unfortunately, due to the deadline, I didn't get a chance to finish this, was forced to submit it incomplete, and received a mere ego-shattering two votes. The finalized version is going to involve Sonic in the picture and a background of Collision Chaos.
Unfortunately, due to the rush involved in trying to finish this in time (two sleepness nights as well as forgetting to feed myself), I'm pretty well burned out on it o@ So, the finished version with the background may turn up one day... it may not. It depends on if I get my drive back. In the meantime, here's what I had submitted to the contest.
Constructive criticism is encouraged as I want this to be as accurate as possible. Off hand I know the shading on Amy's hands isn't quite right and that Metal's cheek juts out too far. These are problems I plan to work on on the finalized picture.

Metal Sonic's muzzle seems a bit too big, but other than that, the resemblance to the old-fashioned art style is amazing. Can't wait to see the finished product if you make it. ^^

I absolutely love how you coloured this. It looks exactly like the old-school Sonic art, which admittedly, I'm crazy about.
Beautiful work. Metal Sonic's hands look a teeny bit small, but aside from that, it's lovely.
