This is Valerie's theme song. I just composed it for the fun of it. It took a while because of past computer problems. I also made several recordings before settling on this one because the bass seems to get distorted if I applied the equalizer settings.

PS : The tag system needs a Folk and Latin genre tag.

EDIT (04-04-2008) : Rearranged this tune to give it a clearer tone and eliminate the bass distortion.

That song is so win. D:

Shodarkhorn Says:

A truly fitting and catchy theme I think

your compositioning never ceases to amaze me even to this day.

I've been so busy lately, I've seen this on my updates list so many times and yet I've never been able to sit down and listen until now. Speaking of time, I'll get Serious Sam sometime soon, I promise.

The song... It's really great, and the soundfont sounds great with it, too. That's what you get when you compose with that specific sound in mind! The bass is a little loud and muddy, but the percussion is perfectly done; As are the guitars. You've got the latin feel down pretty well here.

Looks like AirFont might be a good one to take a look at for some instruments in the future. I'd passed over it up until now, but all the same, I'm not sure how much time I have these days to do that sort of thing (not that I have access to many MIDI's to perform open-heart surgery on anymore). You've gotta admit, Roland GS is good, but it can't touch the power and versatility of the soundfont. =D Now if I can get you using SynthFont and Audacious (or Audition), you should be able to fairly trivially do some good post-processing, too (you spoke of EQ issues... XMPlay isn't the greatest for recording).

Machaeus Says:

I'm wowed every time I hear this - it's perfect for an RPG overworld theme, or for a character. I can imagine this in something based on "Breath of Fire" somehow...
