This was a commission piece for wyrdness@DA. Two characters from a Changeling: The Dreaming game in which she plays. The one on the left is a satyr and on the right, a Gwydion Sidhe. I have to be honest and say it was a real delight to do Changeling art. I still love that game even long after White Wolf gave up really putting any sort of oomph into it. Vampire was always more popular, but I found Changeling more challenging and enjoyable to play by far. Besides, the whimsy and wonder aspect is always a big plus with me. If I wanted tragic goth, I'd watch TNT for that schlock. :p (Or go to Hot Topic and buy it pre-packaged. Whee~)
Anyway, so I really put some love into this one.
The lighting isn't as intense in this piece as others have been, but I think that makes the Sidhe stand out a bit more (which is accurate). I was hoping the halo of sparkles didn't look totally lame, but I've seen elves/sidhe pictured that way in old art before and was always curious to try it myself. So, he's either got that otherworldly light or ...he's really dizzy.
The satyr is so earthy is pleasing. It reminds me of a girlfriend I used to know.

I think the halo works out well...subtle, yet it gives him that otherworldy air. Only problem is it might be too subtle for some people minus your comment. It is also intriguing to see a female satyr, and minus the horns, she could almost pass for those cute bookworm girls you spot at college coffee houses.

Very pretty i like the effect the green added to her hair gives and the shading to the guy's cheekbones.

I like the painting technique and the subdued colors. The satyr's hair in particular grabs me.
I never did the whole RP thing, unfortunately. My experience ends with the casual RP chat over AIM.
