Viva la Revolution

“So you really think you’re all that?”
“Try me,” I sneer as I stand up in my chair. I cock my head to the side and smirk. This fool doesn’t have anything on me.
“Sit back down.”
“Why should he?” Late says, quirking his pierced eyebrow.
“He doesn’t follow rules. He’s a nuisance.”
“Who died and made you boss?”
“Yeah! He’s allowed to do as he pleases.”
“Leave the kid alone!”
“Quiet!”
“No!”
“Make us!”
“You be quiet!”
“I want to make a toast!” I shout, grabbing my pint of chocolate milk and raising it in the air above my head. Some of the milk spills out of the carton opening and onto the floor at my feet, but it still managed to silence my classmates and friends. I stare at the principal for a moment, and then I look around at my eagerly waiting audience. “To being us.”
Late stands up and adds onto my smug comments, “To cussing and fussing!”
“Paper balls in class!”
“To drinking”
“Free thinking!”
“Passing gas at mass!”
“To parties!”
“My sex drive!”
“Don’t forget the pot!”
“To dancing!”
“Enhancing!”
“And never getting caught!”
“To pranking!”
“Not thanking!”
“And never saying please!”
“Commotion!”
“The ocean!”
“And getting on my knees!”
“To ignoring!”
“Up roaring!”
“Forsaking explaination!”
“To crack!”
“And to black jack!”
“And loving masturbation!”
“Ew.”
“To cyber!”
“And phone sex!”
“Staying out too late!”
“To lotion!”
“Hand motion!”
“Brick wall desecrate!”
“To freedom!”
“And smoking!”
“Always sneaking out!”
“Class skipping!”
“Skinny dipping!”
“That’s what it’s all about!” I scream before taking a quick sip of my chocolate milk and smash the carton against the table, splattering the liquid everywhere. On my face, Late’s lunch, and the principal’s new suit coat. “You could never understand.” God, do I love the sound of a riot. Mr. Wunder will never know what hit him.
