This is the first in a small series of fan art I will be making for the "increasingly incorrectly named" The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy trilogy of five.
All the characters I draw will be my own vision of them, probably also mixed with what the TV show and the film viewed them as.
This is Arthur Dent, one of the last 2 surviving humans.
I think the original tv show depicted him as too old as in it he was coming up to his 40s, as by the time he was in Life, The Universe and Everything, which was based 8 years after the first book, he'd be too old.
My guess would be that in the 1st book he'd be mid to late 20s, also guessed by the makers of the film.
The towel he is holding is the one mentioned in Life, The Universe and Everything as a random towel that appeared in his bag, that also happens not to be the one he was holding before.
The cup is a drink that doesn't exaclty taste unlike tea from the Heart of Gold.
And since he was hungover at the beggining of the first book, thus meaning he was really really drunk before hand, he didn't do his PJ buttons up properly.
