Between the Lines 12

Okay so here's another chapter. Yayz.

"I'm telling you it was a curse!" Ai shouted to Kurumi. Pulling the sanitary hospital blankets tighter around her body, she turned to face Kurumi's retort.

"There's no such things as curses! Yuzuki isn't a witch!"

"Torturing ones friends would put anyone under the witch category to me!" Ai shouted. She paused a moment to look at Kirona, who was quickly jotting something down on a note pad in her bed. "Why else would that, that thing have hurt so much if it wasn't a curse!"

"Whatever Yuzuki did, it wasn't a curse. It was some type of jutsu. I don't know what kind but it had to be. Witches don't exist!"

"Do to!" Ai retorted.

"You're going to wake Misaki if you keep yelling like that." Kirona said calmly as she pointed at the hospital bed behind Kurumi. Ai just rolled her eyes and glanced at Misaki's sleeping form.

"She's been asleep for, like, two days! She needs to get up." Ai said.

"She's in worse shape then we are, let her sleep." Kirona ordered. She paused a moment as a thought struck her and quickly wrote it down.

"So what are you doodling anyway?" Kurumi asked Kirona before Ai had a chance to go on about witches again.

"I'm not doodling. Just trying to, " She paused a moment to think of the correct words. When she decided against telling them, she wrote something else down and let the sentence die.

"O-okay." Ai said to Kirona's unfinished sentence. "Have fun with that then."

Kurumi sighed beside Ai and stretched her arms above her head. "When do we get to leave?" She asked.

"They said later today so long as we still look fine." Kirona answered.

"When did they say that?"

"This morning, when you took your morning nap." Jotting down something else, Kirona scanned the two previous pages before flipping to a new one.

"Aw. Naps are so great."

"Ya. Especially when your trying to get your energy back from being cursed!" Ai said through a smile.

"Don't start that agian!."

"Curse."

"It was not."

"Curse."

"You have no proof!"

"C-urse."

"Was not!"

"Curse."

"STOP THAT!" Kurumi shouted, an anger mark apparent on her forhead. In anger she sat up and threw her pillow at the smiling Ai.

When the pillow fell, so did Ai's smirk.

"That's it." Ai said. She grabbed her own pillow and threw it back at Kurumi. The two konoichi's continued the pillow fight in a sort of comical cartoon style until the hospital room door opened.

"Looks like you guys are fine to me." Sakura said as she entered and smiled at the fight between the two.

"I'm waiting for them to break something." Kirona said from her bed. She glanced at the two ninjas and smiled. "So how long do you think Misaki's going to be out?"

"Not much longer. She seems to have suffered from exhaustion more than anything else." Kirona nodded.

"So what about the Akatsuki's removal ceremony?"

"Pardon?" Sakura asked.

"I thought the demon removal ceremony that the Akatsuki used meant death for the jinchurriki."

"It does. Which makes me wonder how she lived."

"Maybe they didn't do it after all?" Ai asked.

"How is it that she doesn't have the lizard mark then?" Kurumi asked Ai.

"It was a tattoo?"

"Not funny."

"What lizard mark?" Sakura asked.

"There was this demon that possessed someone everytime the previous per...son.....died." A look of shock covered Kurumi's face and she looked to Kirona and Ai. Both shared the same look of shock on either of their faces.

"What?" Sakura asked, completely lost.

"That was a secret!" Kurumi shouted in disbelief.

"A what?"

"A secret!" Ai repeated happily.

Jumping out of her bed, Kirona walked over to Kurumi and started to talk quickly and quietly with her.

"What's happening?" Kiba asked as he walked into the room. He was followed by Hinata, Akamaru, Naruto, and Lee.

"I dunno. Something about secrets." Sakura answered.

"Sakura village secrets?" Kiba asked. "I thought they couldn't talk about those."

"We couldn't!" Kurumi said happily. She jumped from her bed in happiness and glomped Lee, nearly tackling him to the floor.

Kirona was standing now, walking back and forth thinking. Her hands twitching with happiness and excitement.

"This is beyond so great!" Ai said happily.

"What's all this about secrets now?" Sakura asked once more.

"We never used to be able to talk our village. Even saying the village name felt like saying too much." Kirona explained. "Everytime we'd try to say something it felt as though someone had snipped our tongue and there was no oxygen in our lungs. We couldn't do anything."

"Is that why we had to rephrase a question for Misaki-chan?" Kiba asked.

"You asked her a question?" Ai asked. "What'd you ask?"

"Just how she and Yuzuki had known Gaara. She mentioned her classes."

"She told you about the classes?" Kirona asked.

"No. She just said that the classes were even secrets. What's all this mean agian?"

"She didn't tell you anything about the classes then?" Kirona asked. Receiving a negative answer from Kiba she feel silent once more and began thinking.

"So when did this all happen?" Naruto asked.

"What happen?" Ai asked happily.

"The ability to tell secrets."

The three Sakura ninja's froze. Kurumi stopped hugging Lee and stared at Ai and Kirona. The same thought crossing their minds.
