Very nice, I love the eerie feeling this piece gives off, as though something of great fear is about to occur. lovely detail on the tree and the roots weaving with the rocks, very nice.
I agree; I like unicorns but the too-sweet and pretty images tend to annoy me. There's a gritty realism to this image that is really the perfect way to draw unicorns. It makes them seem like more than just some fluffy fantasy creature.

I wouldn't say he's "too sweet" here...actually, to me, he looks kind of scared and small compared to the dismal place he's surrounded by.
