The Tyrus and Earth War
LEGENDS OF
THE STAR WARRIORS
The Tyrus and Earth War
By James R Lemons III
Part #1 The Fall of Tyrus
Not too far away from Earth’s solar system is a plant called Tyrus, the closest inhabitable planet to Earth. In some ways Tyrus is just like Earth, it is a small blue planet covered with deserts, forest, and icy wastelands. It also has its share of wildlife, bugs, fish, mammals, and birds. Tyrus even has intelligent life on one of their larger continents known as the Tyrusiens. The Tyrusien’s past is a mystery, even to them. According to Star Warrior history the Tyrusiens just appeared on Tyrus. The planet used to be uninhabited and was part of a planet preserve so no one really paid that much attention to it. The Sorans, the owners of the preserve, rarely visited the world because there was hardly anything interesting about it until one day they found several colonies of what they called raccoon men on one of the planet’s smaller continents. When they visited the Tyrusiens they discovered that the raccoon men already knew how to travail faster than light and probably already knew all about alien life so they thought it would be safe to ask them directly how they arrived on Tyrus. At the time only the elders knew of their past but for reasons unknown they refused to tell their off spring and took the origins of the Tyrusiens to their graves. The Sorans left after the last elder with any memory of the Tyrusiens past life pasted away. The Sorans gave Tyrus and its solar system to the raccoon men and even started calling the new people of Tyrus the Tyrusiens. The Sorans knew that this would not help make up for the Tyrusiens lost history but sadly it was all they could give. Time pasted and soon Tyrus had more Tyrusiens than it could handle. The Tyrusiens started to immigrate across their solar system, building space colonies and star ships until eventually they became so numerous a neighboring solar system began to feel threatened. With the increasing threat of war, the Tyrusiens began to build their own army an army that would cover the Earth three times. When the war finally broke out the Tyrusiens didn’t just defeat their enemy they destroyed them. Now not only did they have one solar system under their control they had three and a growing army that rivaled the Soran’s. But instead of gaining respect from the neighboring systems the new army gave the Tyrusiens all kinds of problems. Not only did it scare the other worlds but they had problems trying to maintain it, making sure that it stayed ahead of their enemies, and they had to convince the United Systems that they had good intentions for their now over sized army. The United Systems was the most powerful organization in the galaxy and were the most trusted allies of the Star Warriors, the protectors of God’s people and holders of his powers. The U.N.S. knew that Tyrus’ army was getting too big too fast and was advising the Tyrusiens to reduce its size before it became too powerful for them to control. Tyrus took their advice and started cutting funs to their military but the action came too late. The cut in funds angered the leader of Tyrus’ army, Rave Bevor. He was a crippled old man who was attached to a hover chare that maintained most of his vital systems. His body was all but destroyed and could barely move his arms but one day he arrived on his flagship holding his gloved hands up to his face and resting his chin on his frail fingers. This, of course, shocked his generals but it was nothing compared to the orders he give out next. “Destroy the capital.” After Rave had killed most of the senators and had declared marshal law, the surviving members of the senate went into hiding and began to form a resistance movement. This only amused the new dictator.
While all this was happening, a young Tyrusien named Kenneth Aldrax was trying to put his life back together. His mother and father had just pasted away a few days after he got out of school and was left taking care of his twelve year old brother, David Aldrax, all on his own. At first he believed that taking care of his little brother wasn’t going to be much of a problem, before his mother and father died Kenneth was already planning on marrying his long time girlfriend, Rose Wintray, but when he tried to find her he discovered that she left town. He was sure that news of what happed to his family would eventually reach her and knowing her she would come rushing back to comfort him, but she never came. With the disappearance of his girlfriend and the death of his family Kenneth was completely heart broken. Five years later Kenneth had managed to get most of his life back together. He managed to get a job that paid just enough to get by and send his little brother to school. He had plans on joining the Space Force after David finally move and had even considered bring David along with him to join the Space Force. You see both of them were born with strange powers that no one on Tyrus could understand. Everyone thought that their powers were going to be a burden when they finally started living on their own. Everyone saw them as freaks of nature and believed no one would hire a freak but Kenneth and David saw there powers as a big advantage. They believed that they could use their powers to help protect Tyrus as solders. But that all changed when Rave took over. Rave was doing everything he could to enlarge his army from taking people off the streets to forcing little children to join. The schools were shut down and were being turned into training camps where the youth would learn how to fight and kill the enemy. Luckily Kenneth was able to get to David before the military began collecting kids off of his street. When Kenneth explained to his brother what was going on, David was dumbfounded, not by the sudden change in government but by his brother’s actions. Kenneth was the one who encouraging David to join the army along with him and David actually liked the idea of using his powers to deafened Tyrus from evil but now all the sudden Kenneth just wanted to get him as far away from the military as possible, it made David wander if his brother was losing his mind. At first David didn’t say anything thinking that maybe his brother knew something that he didn’t but after two months on the run David began to think maybe he would have been better if he stayed behind. Kenneth thought his best chance at getting away from the military was to go to the Outside Islands. The Outside Islands are a group of Tyrusien colonies that were outside the Tyrusien mane government. Many people believe that the islands were where the resistance was hiding and Kenneth intended on joining them. David however was not so eager. One day, Kenneth met a merchant who was willing to take him to the Outside Island. It turned out that he was a member of the resistance and was smuggling as many people who wanted to escape from the militants to the islands as he could. Kenneth had managed to arrange transport for him and his brother too the islands but when David finally found out what his brother was up to, he put his foot down. He was tiered of running from something he didn’t want to run from. He didn’t see anything wrong about joining the military, even if they were being forced to join, he and Kenneth had been planning joining the military for a long time. Kenneth tried to talk his brother into coming along with him but they ended up getting into a big argument and finally just went their separate ways. It wasn’t until Kenneth was on his way that he realized that he had just made the biggest mistake of his life.
Back at the remains of the capital, Rave’s generals were asking him to explain why he suddenly decided to take control of Tyrus’ government. Even Rave knew that with out the senators it was going to be almost impossible to maintain Tyrus and the other two solar systems. Apparently he knew something that they didn’t. When Rave finally arrived his generals began asking him countless questions on how he was going to maintain Tyrus but Rave just simply answered, “I am not the one who can give you that answer,” then pointed to a dark looking man. He was a very old Tyrusien with pail white eyes and pitch black robes that made him look like the grim reaper. “This is Demos Beast,” Rave continued, “the leader of the Dark Warriors off Tyrus.”
The Star Warrior, Hunt Johnson had been feeling very cold ever since the take over of Tyrus. Hunt or Beggar as every one liked to call him was the local Star Warrior on the island of Fodara, one of the outside islands. Beggar is a very old Tyrusien who lost his eye sight during the Solar Wars. After words he went from fighting wars to preaching the gospel to the local Tyrusiens. However, there are still times when he will have to uses his fighting skills to defend the people on the island from gangs, in particular one gang called the Blood Hawks lead by a vary large man named Gordon Fay. Gordon and Beggar had been blood rivals from the first day they met. Before Beggar arrived Gordon practically owned Fodara with intimidation and power but when Beggar showed up, Gordon’s gang began to shrink dramatically and his power over the people was all but lost thanks to Beggar’s preaching. For a long time the islanders looked to Beggar for protection and guidance but lately his powers were beginning to weaken. His age was finally taking its toil on him and the worst part was Gordon knew it. All he had to do now was sit back and weight and soon Fodara would be his again. Everything seemed to be looking up for Gordon and his gang but that all changed when the Rouge Warrior came ashore. Kenneth Aldrax had finally arrived on Fordara with the intention of killing himself. Losing his brother was the last straw and Kenneth had already tried to hang himself twice before making land fall. The caption of course wasn’t going to stand to have someone commit suicide on his ship so he locked Kenneth away until they reached land fall then they turned him over to Beggar to see if he could comfort him. Beggar knew from the moment they met that he was what the Star Warriors called a Rouge Warrior. Rouges were people who were somehow able to learn how to control their powers on their own, some were even born with their powers but it came at a terrible price. If they didn’t learn how to control their powers correctly then they would go insane or worse. Beggar explained to Kenneth that he could help him control his powers and even help him get his life back together with his teachings. Kenneth, feeling like he had nothing left to lose, accepted his offer not realizing that this would make him Gordon’s next target.
Kenneth’s arrival ruined Gordon’s original plans to out live Beggar. Kenneth was much younger than both Beggar and Gordon and from what he has heard Kenneth was far stronger than ether of them. Gordon made it his top priority to make sure that Kenneth never got to live long enough to become a Star Warrior. It took him almost a mouth but eventually Gordon found out who and where Kenneth Aldrax was. When Kenneth first met Gordon, Kenneth was running some errands for his teacher. One of Gordon’s men tried to slip up behind him with a knife but Kenneth spotted him and used his powers to send the man flying. Kenneth ended up fighting the rest of Gordon’s lackeys and ran them off with little effort but when Gordon came after him it was a different story. Gordon knew how to fight a Star Warrior through his battles with Beggar and was probably strong enough to kill a Star Warrior in a one on one match as Kenneth was soon to find out. When the fight first started out Gordon kept his distance until he saw an opening and tossed several spicks at Kenneth, at lest one hit him in the arm. Gordon knew that if a Warrior was injured or in pain it would be harder for them focus on using their powers to fight back and sure enough Gordon found it easier to beat the tar out of Kenneth. Kenneth would have died if it wasn’t for Beggar showing up at the last minuet. He ran Gordon off with his staff and took Kenneth to the island doctor.
Thanks to the Dark Warriors, the Tyrusien militants were able to locate most of the resistance hiding in isolated areas like the Outside Islands or the ruins of the concord races on other worlds. Rave’s first order of business was to take out the resistance on Tyrus then move onto the other worlds. If the ones on Tyrus were able to get a stronger foot hold they could do some major damage to the new government. They moved quickly through the islands but through all of their progress there was still something troubling Rave. There were rumors of two men in the resistance that fought like Star Warriors. If there were Star Warriors on the other side it could complicate Rave’s plans to take full control of Tyrus so he sent two Dark Warriors out to find the two Star Warriors. Meanwhile, Kenneth had just spent a week in the hospital recovering from his fight with Gordon. Beggar along with some resistance members were out trying to find Gordon so he could run him and his gang off of the island before he did any more damage. It was better to have the militants deal with him than to let him run lose on the island. During his stay in the hospital Kenneth doctor, Cara, couldn’t help but notice that there was just something familiar about him. It wasn’t until she visited one of her closest friends that she realized exactly who he was. As Kenneth was getting ready to leave, Cara asked him if he was related to a Kimmie Aldrax. Kenneth said he never heard of her and continued on his way. Cara shook her head and apologized saying that it probably wouldn’t have done her any good to ask him that question since the only relative that this girl has ever known was her mother. Kenneth didn’t why he suddenly took interest in this young girl but he soon found himself asking all kinds of questions about Kimmie Aldrax. Kimmie was four years old, had pitch black hair about the same color as Kenneth’s, her fur was a light brown like Kenneth’s, and she had blue eyes like Kenneth’s. Kenneth could feel a lump forming in his throat as he asked Cara who Kimmie’s mother was. Cara couldn’t help but grin as she said “Rose Wintry.” Kenneth stopped cold in his tracks, his ears shot up, and his face turned pail. Kenneth felt excited that he had finally found Rose but at the same time dreaded the fact that he was now a father. Kenneth began to ask Cara a flood of questions like where could he find her, was she married, and how long has she been on the island. Cara led Kenneth to Rose’s place and told him that Rose has been kicking herself for leaving him, she was even thinking of going back to him but that all changed when Rave took over. The last thing she wanted was to have her daughter taken away from her to be trained as a solder the moment she set foot on the mainland. When Kenneth finally arrived at Rose’s place he didn’t get the welcome he or Cara was expecting. The moment Rose first saw Kenneth’s face she slapped it and slammed the door. And Kenneth thought he and his brother had issues. Kenneth asked Rose if she could let him in but she kept telling him to go away. He even tried apologizing to her for impregnating her in the first place but she still wouldn’t listen. Kenneth was not about to let something like this go so he used his powers to pick the lock. But when he saw Rose crying on the couch he realized that probably now wasn’t the best time to talk to her. Kenneth then turned around, asked Cara to let him know when she was ready to talk to him, and then left. He could sure use Beggar’s help right about now.
Beggar spent the first few hours explaining to Kenneth that this is exactly why adultery is a sin and after he was sure he had drilled the message into Kenneth’s head he told him that the best thing for him to do was to marry her. Kenneth had no problem with this he was planning on marrying her from the start. He even still had the engagement ring from the first time he was going to ask her in his pocket just incase he ever found her again. After getting slapped again he asked Beggar if he had any other bright ideas. Beggar just said he needed to take things one steep at a time he could expect her to forgive him in just one day. Soon enough, slowly but surely, Rose calmed down enough to where he could talk to her again. As for Kimmie it took little while for them to get used to each other. Kenneth has had some parenting experience with David but he was twelve and quiet not four and energetic. Kimmie was constantly getting herself into all kinds of trouble and had Rose worn out by the end of the day. Kenneth saw this as an opportunity to get back on Rose’s good side so he suggested that he help Rose watch over Kimmie since he was her father and all. Kenneth had a feeling that Kimmie had picked up some of his traits but he didn’t realize exactly how much she was like him. Kimmie was born with her warrior powers and like Kenneth when he was her age she wanted to learn how to use them, even if it meant teaching herself. When Rose said she was bouncing off the walls he didn’t think she meant literally. One day Kimmie finally pushed her father past his limit. Kenneth was trying to catch her so he could put her to bed but she refused to listen to a man who clamed to be her father. Kenneth never used his powers on her even when she was misbehaving because he was afraid he might hurt, but today Kenneth was tired and was not in the mood for Kimmie’s antics. As soon as Kenneth saw an opining he used his powers to gently lift Kimmie up into the air until she was nose to nose with her angry father. To his surprise she seemed unfazed by his angry looks. Kenneth wrapped his hands around Kimmies and placed her on the couch. He was about to tell her to wipe the smile off of her face but before he could say anything Kimmie yelled out, “Wow! You have powers just like Beggar and me! Can you teach me how to use some of your powers? Please!” This gave Kenneth an idea. He agreed to teach her some of the things he knew but only if she would behave herself. With in the next few weeks Kimmie turned from a little monster to little angle.
Three months later, life on Tyrus just started to fall apart. Gulliver Brunt, the leader of the resistance, was starting to lose the battle on Tyrus. All he and his army had been able to do was evacuate the innocent people of Tyrus to safer territory manly the space colonies. Gulliver knew that there was no way they could defend Tyrus without outside help so he asked Beggar if it was possible to get help from the Star Warriors. Beggar said only if they had proof that the Dark Warriors were involved in the war. At first the leaders of the resistance wanted to send Beggar to find this proof but Beggar knew his time in this world was running short and it showed. He had become sluggish, his joints were hurting constantly, and Cara was having a hard time keeping up with his internal bleeding. Kenneth seemed to be the most likely candidate since he had to get to Utopia anyway so he could finish his training. That night, Kenneth was getting ready to leave when word got out that Raves militants had found the island were the resistances leaders were staying and were heading in their direction. It was too late. Kenneth couldn’t find the proof they needed before the attack. The only thing they could do now was defend the island long enough for the islanders to getaway. Gulliver’s troops quickly set up defensive positions all around the island. Every one knew that this was the fall of Tyrus and it was very likely that they wouldn’t live to see the next day so most of the solders made last minute proportions before all hell broke lose. Among these people was Kenneth. He knew this was probably a bad time for him and Rose to get married but Rose was insistent. Kenneth felt he had made enough mistakes in the past with his brother and his girlfriend and wasn’t planning on making another mistake by dieing before he and Rose were married so later that evening Kenneth and Rose Aldrax were finally married. After Kenneth had made sure that the girls were on the next transport off the island, he went back to help the rebels hold off the militants. Kenneth felt both excited and horrified. He had never been in a battle before and had hoped that he would never be put in the situation to where he would have to kill someone. Time seemed to move slowly as the sirens began to sound signaling that the militant’s battle ships had just been spotted over the horizon. Soon the gunshots were flying over head and explosions rang throughout the island. Kenneth along with several other solders had taken refuge in one of the outlying buildings. He was part of the second line of troops whose job was to back up the front line just incase they were forced to retreat back into the city. Kenneth wasn’t too worried about that happening though. Brunt’s forces had brought in so many canons to help fend off the invading ground and navel forces, he guessed they would give the inhabitants of the island and his line more than enough time to escape but that quickly changed when he saw a cannon position explode after taking a hit from a Tyrus destroyer. Now he was worried about getting killed before he even got the chance to fight back. The battle on the front line lasted for about two hours until the rebel forces came running back into the city with militants hot on their tail. As soon as the militants were in the city, the second line began detonating landmines that they had placed around the edges of the city to slow the militants down but it only lasted for a few moments. Kenneth could see the militant coming out of the smoke and ruble firing the machineguns at anyone who wasn’t wearing their uniform. Running through the bombs gave the militants a hellish look. They skin was chaired, there fur was dirty black, and some were even on fire. It was a horrifying sight a sight that would change Kenneth. Soon both sides were shooting back and forth at each other some were even fighting hand to hand. Kenneth could believe the madness he had gotten himself in to. People were ether falling dead right next to him or were fighting with blood covering there bodies. As he returned fire watching the people he shot fall over in silence he felt sick to his stomach and it only got worse as he went hand to hand with them. Soon Kenneth found himself covered in blood none of which was his own. Still through all the madness he had no intentions of retreating or surrendering until the last transport was on its way off world and the same went for the other rebels. As the battle progressed Kenneth found himself fighting along side his teacher Beggar. Beggar’s fighting skills were unbelievable even in his poor health. Because he knew how to use the power of the Star Warriors he didn’t need to see who he was attacking, he just let God guide him in the right direction and he easily decapitated the enemy army with his staff or his laser sword. He kept as many troops as he could alive, like most Star Warriors do, but there were still a few that he was forced to kill because they were so persistent. Kenneth did the same as he grabbed a knife from one of the militants and used it fend off the others. Thanks to there combined efforts they were able to hold off the militants long enough for all the civilian transports to get away safely but in the process they attracted a ruthless Dark Warrior called Sherik. Sherik is a Mutadien, a raptor like alien with a diamond hard exoskeleton. Sherik dresses himself in black mythril armor to double his defense and carries a large variety of weapons on his belt that crosses over his chest. With a laser sword in each hand and his powerful feet crushing the heads of the rebels, he was the biggest and most terrifying warrior on the battle field. When he saw the two Star Warriors he charged directly at Beggar ready to cut off his head but Beggar heard him coming and used his powers to send him flying into one of the ruined buildings. Soon Beggar and Sherik were facing off against each other. Kenneth tried to jump in and help Beggar with the fight but before he could reach him a battle scared Gordon jumped in his way. Gordon knew that there was no way he could save his island and he was hot with anger. If he and the island was going to go down then he was going to take the Star Warriors along with him. Kenneth was hurting and exhausted from the battle and wasn’t in the mood to fight a gang member wanting revenge but Gordon didn’t give him much of a chose. Gordon pounded Kenneth as he did before only this time Kenneth had the advantage. Gordon had been fighting on the front along with the rebels to protect his island and had been worn down by the militants. Kenneth found it a lot easier to defend himself but it still wasn’t enough. Gordon was knocking him around like a rage doll and was about ready to kill him when Kenneth got a lucky brake. Beggar had somehow managed to knock one of Sherik’s swords out of his hand and it landed near Kenneth. It was a blue Star Warrior laser sword in the shape of a cross. Apparently Sherik had been collecting them from slain Star Warriors. Kenneth didn’t quite know how to wield one but he did know how to turn one on which was all he needed. Just as Gordon was about to impale Kenneth with his knife, Kenneth grabbed the sword, pointed it at Gordon and turned it on. The blade shot out of the sword and passed through Gordon’s heart killing him instantly. With Gordon out of the way Kenneth went to rescue Beggar. Beggar was starting to ware down and Sherik was about to deliver the final blow when Kenneth jumped out at him and hit him across the eye with his sword forcing Sherik to make a hasty retreat. Kenneth helped Beggar get back onto his feet just in time to see the army rush the city. Kenneth, seeing how badly hurt Beggar was, decided that it was time for him to leave as well.
They managed to get off the planet just before they were completely overrun. Beggar died before they left the atmosphere. Kenneth tried everything he could too keep him alive form what he had learned from his now dying teacher but Beggar was too far gone. Beggar knew he was going to die long before the battle started from ether the barrel of a gun, the point of a blade, or the decay of his body. Beggar died telling Kenneth to let him go. He had taught him every thing he needed too control his abilities so now he must use them to protect God’s people. Not easy when you have just lost a war. The war to protect Tyrus was over and Tyrus had fallen. The resistance had failed and all hope anyone had had of freeing Tyrus again had vanished. All that was left for Kenneth and his new family to do now was find a safe place to hide and hopefully live out the rest of their lives in peace. Problem is that as long as they were in Tyrus space they were going to be hunted and the militants were not about to let them leave.

Woah.
This looks interesting, but might I recommend adding some paragraph breaks? I can't read this, for the life of me.
CaryMorton Says:
It's a little info-dumpy to me.. This is all "tell" and no "show".. and without hardly any breaks, we have giant blocks of text not very conducive to making people want to read
I just couldn't seem to get into the story after the first couple of sentences...but maybe its just not my kind of story. Congrats though on taking the time to write it.. you obviously have a good imagination and the willpower to become an author.
