Good Morning

Good Morning, Little Lassie,
For love’s come in the night,
And I’m afraid,
We’ve fallen asleep before we could turn out the light.

Good Morning, My Love,
For dawn’s lark does call,
And I’m afraid,
The bed is a mess with all of last night’s enthrall.

Good Morning, My Life,
For day’s light now shines,
And I’m afraid,
The neighbors could hear quite a bit more than we’d mind.

Good Morning, My Wife,
For life’s tenor does go on,
And I’m afraid,
Your beauty is more than I can stand to look upon.

Good Morning, My Immortal,
For a body needs to rise,
And I’m afraid,
As life goes on, you are the only one to wipe the tears away from my eyes…

This is a poem I just finished, started it but a couple of minutes ago...
I wrote from the view point of a Man who wakes to see his Love still sleeping. Each verse is as time goes on in thier lives, so the poem progresses, as it were.

A rather interesting way to convey time, though I'm fond of it.

How long before that happened ¬¬

Of course I didn't lose the link you sent me! Why would I have done that? Heh. Yeeeah.
I like the old-welsh feel of this piece; it sounds as though it should be sung in a soft grandmother's tongue, really. The last line of every stanza feels just a little out of place, though. A little too long, perhaps?
