This is a sketch of 's character, Liberty, from her comic The Many Misfortunes of Lady Luck, which you can find on her page.

Just a quickish sketch, 2 hours with a mechanical pencil, no blending. Unfortunately I had to change the weapon design significantly compared to the reference I was given, because I couldn't figure out the way the others were supposed to be gripped. I hope she's a weapons collector? Also, if anybody can let me know if I'm moving in the right direction with regard to drawing the female physique, I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I simply love her pose

Virangelus Says:

I really like that you did not make her TWIG skinny O.o SO many people do that and it's nice to see someone realistical protray a heroine.

Radical JoJo Says:

Awww, I like her hair. *Touches.*
And those crazy...sharp things that she's holding. Those are very cool.

Anatomy is definitely better! ^^
Arms are kinda long. (Oh, like I'm one to talk in that regard.) Actually...I think it's just that her head is small. I imagine that you drew the head first, and then added the body? I always do the same thing. Just go back and tweak the head size once you have the body sketched, all before you add any detail.

whirlwynd Says:

Cool =) Like Virangelus, I like that you gave her more realistic proportions - most of the times when I try that it doesn't look so good. More practice, I guess. You did a great job with that. I like the way you drew her face as well.

If you'd like me to try any of your characters anytime, let me know

inferno Says:

I like her expression Very nice ^^

Lindale Says:

Looks good, great work on the face and hands :)

Also have you tried looking at drawings in a mirror? It makes people see a sketch differently and so become more likely to find any mistakes they might have got accustomed to while drawing. Looking at a sketch from a distance helps too because then you really see it as a whole. (Sorry if you already know all that!)

Smiling Devil Says:

She's looking very good, only aren't her breasts a bit off?
