"Silicon Dream", which again follows on loosely from the theme at the end of
Tears of an Eagle, is something of a more experimental song. It's slower than usual (though I've increased the tempo by a couple of BPM for this submission as it seemed to drag just a little), contains a number of time changes and features the drums a bit more - something that I usually don't concentrate on while writing music.
After the song was complete I realized that its subject could be interpreted as something similar to the
Cube films, but I hadn't thought of this while writing it. It describes the construction of a giant machine or digital brain, its purpose unknown.
[Lyrics]
The watchers all have gathered
Baying to see blood
A world trapped in hiding
And never understood
Our power has been jealous
But now we stand as one
The distant past is rising
Construction has begun
You will see the power of the machine
As we build our silicon dream
Complex, elaborate
Fiendish and intricate
Slowly the giant awakes
Inside the machine
The victims have been chosen
We reach towards the sky
Our world always watched through
The electronic eyes
We shall repair the difference
Of reality and thought
The one to give us justice
This power can't be fought
You will see the power of the machine
As we build our silicon dream
Relentless and powerful
Cold and mechanical
Slowly the giant will rise
Inside the machine
Landed are the circles
The end of all we know
Our silence has been broken
We cry from down below
From far away we feel it
The power and the heat
The titan stands before us
Our nightmare is complete

That is awesome! It should be in some sort of retro vampire game on the Snes
I don't usual like metal, but I like the flute on this piece
Shawn Millican Says:
MOD music still kicks ass. :)
Broshmosh Says:
This is written in an interesting key... Kinda surprises the listener at some parts, but doesn't ruin the song.
Drums in this one are well thought out too.
AZSolii Says:
Intricate and a very interesting melody. It caught me off guard, but as I listened, it made sense with the tone of the song as a whole. I really like it. *Yes'd*
Merina Says:
As i keep saying,
damn how i wish your music was formed with a band it would rock so badly.
Great work!
Machete Says:
Pretty awesome. I do have to tell you that I think you have one of the best (Non obtrusive) sounding synthed guitars I've heard. Kudos on that, man. The whole song is pretty awesome actually!
DesLacoda Says:
Pretty Damn cool! I really have an affection for this type of music with it's retro sounds, it's a nice track that I could listen to over and over again. Now if I could get my mits on a midi of this I'd be happy, since I wanna see what it sounds like with more realistic sounds.
Faved and now I'm gonna check out your gallery
Shadixx Says:
Outstanding. Sounds like it's be for a fight scene.
Lofty Says:
A neat departure from your regular style...well, actually it's still recognisable as a David Newton track. But it doesn't sound quite like the others. The fast melodic distorted chords sound great and probably produce the greatest difference. Thoroughly enjoyable as always.
