Khan charged towards his battle Brothers defensive position, holding his bolter at the hip he sprayed the enemy with controlled bursts, the gyro-stabilizers in his power armour making his shots as accurate as possible without him aiming. Almost every shot finding its mark, every shot bringing down its target, every target being expelled quickly and efficiently.
“Brothers we fight!” he yelled over the din of battle as his comrades met his cry and left their cover spots to charge at the enemy, firing their bolters and bolt pistols on fully automatic.
“Brothers, give them no quarter, have no mercy and leave none alive!” shouted their sergeant just before he was brought down by a hail of fire from a heavy stubber, but the marines fought on regardless. Jumping into the fray, killing everything in their path, Khan himself brought down the guardsman who killed their sergeant, firing a shot which took the traitors head from his shoulders.
The marines fought and fought and fought until all that was left of the enemy battalion was a single heretic commissar.

The thunder hawk gunship came in low and landed in a clearing on the battle ground, its engines sending the bodies of heretics that had yet to be flamed outward from the landing zone. Once it had landed an entire command squad filed out of the drop ship, after they had checked the area they signalled to the pilot of the gunship, who opened the rear door, and scarred marine carrying large amounts of wargear stepped off of the ship and in to the orange sunlight.

“Commander” said an equally scarred marine “we now hold this sector”.
“Very good chaplain” the commander replied “and this marine I’ve heard so much about?”
“Khan” the chaplain ordered “you are wanted”.
Khan stepped forward clutching a badly wounded arm.
“Sir?”
“Tales of your exploits have reached my ears” said the commander stepping in “one of out veteran squads is in new of a new sergeant, I would like that rank to go to you”.
