The fall of Tiber

Space marines don’t sleep, it’s not that they can’t, it’s because they don’t really sleep.
Battle brother Khan was in just one of these “non-sleeps” when the barrage started.

“Come along brothers!” the staff sergeant shouted as the battle barge rocked from the onslaught. Khan pounded down to the drop pods as around him explosions killed his brothers and apothecaries either healed the wounded or extracted their gene seed.

“I thought this planet was secure sir!” he shouted to his superior officer.
“So did we!” he replied, “There must be corruption deeper that our scanners could detect!”
“What are our orders sir?” Khan shouted over the screams of the dying.
“Get down to the planet Tiber and hold it at all costs!”

“Yes sir!” Khan said as he stepped in to the drop pod and was shot down to the planets surface.
