I got my Christmas present from Kyle already~!
He bought me a set of brushes and pallette knives, some canvases, a set of acrylics and a table easel that also happens to be a carrying case for all my stuff.
I LOVE IT!!! ^0^
I was going to be a good girl and wait, but I think Kyle was just as anxious to see me use it as I was to try it out. Because he kept telling me 'You -can- open it, you know. You know what it is. <.<;'
So, I did, finally. =3
It's so lovely~ ^0^
Uhm... Oh, right, the painting. o.o;
We have this calendar we got from Kyle's parents that has lots of lovely landscape pictures from Texas, where they live. And, wanting to try my hand at painting something, I went flipping through and found this lovely sunset from the mountains in Big Bend National Park. I loved the yellows and almost golds in it. So, I decided to make that my first project!
I worked on this for about two hours, so, I'm actually rather pleased with how it came out. This is my first time -ever- painting a landscape in real media and it was challenging in some ways, but a damned lot of fun over all! ^-^3
