I did this piece for an illustration class, using a new technique that I think I could really take somewhere.
The character is Tararegeel, a death diety. His function is small but important.

Ohhh, this is just amazing! For a death deity, he actually doesn't look excessively menacing--in your story, is death treated more as a natural part of life than as a threat? That's the feeling I get by looking at this, anyway.
