The longest walk ever
Two becoming one
He’s in black and white,
Like a penguin
I am in pure white
Like an angel.
My veil covers me; hides me
Does he really want me?
Only one way to find out.
A few steps taken.
And then a few more
He is fidgeting now
Does she really want me?
Only one way to find out.
I’m walking towards him.
All witnesses around me
All of them are smiling
I see every face
All faces see me
Me as myself
And not yet as Mrs.
A few more steps taken
And then a few more
He’s bouncing up and down
My smile; he can’t see
A few more steps taken
I’m almost there
He’s calming down
He finally saw me grin
I get there and he takes my hand
It’s a masterpiece
Two becoming one
One new family.
This is ultimately the longest poem I have ever written. And I love it dearly. It's about a wedding. Obviously I'm nowhere close to getting married, but I thought it would be cool to imagine if I was.
