Not Afraid
Music and production by M-One

Lyrics by Tiomara
This is Not Afraid, a song about moving on with life after being in relationships and becoming not afraid of the consequences.
Before I started composing this song I wanted to use some sounds from one of the old keyboards I've recently bought, so I chose to sample all the drum sounds from my PSR-22 (an old yamaha FM synthesis keyboard from the 80s) and put the samples into a drum machine. I also made a short loop with the PSR-22 and added that (both can be heard throughout the song).
After I composed the piece and sung mock vocals to it, I sent it to Kitten who kindly wrote some fantastic lyrics for it. I got the lyrics back and two days later sung them to achieve this great song. I hope you enjoy listening to it as I had fun composing and singing it.

Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
My heart is pounding in my chest
and I'm not ready for you
Don't be fooled by my words
I know exactly what to do
(Chorus)
I'm not afraid, yeah
My heart has healed
I'm not afraid yeah.
life is moving on
(Verse 2)
You were once my life
My every waking moment
My thoughts were always on you
I thought we'd be together til death
(Chorus)
(Spoken at the bridge)
I'm not afraid of love
I'm not afraid of you
I'm not afraid of life
I'm not afraid of what you'll do
What love we had
is slowly fading from me
I'm not afraid of life
I'm not afraid of what I can be
(Chorus x3)
(Whispered while fading)
Not afraid

I like!! This is good!
mercury yume Says:
I hope this doesn't seem offensive, but this could easily make pop charts with a boy band behind it. Probably even without the boy band.
Shodarkhorn Says:
Very catchy beat and normally I don't care for lyrics but these really stand out in this piece and are well choreographed.
EXCELLENT work.
Minstrel Ayreon Says:
In some odd way, this reminds me of Dirty Vegas (the guys that did "Days Go By"), which is the kind of mellow techno I like. Were you thinking of them at all by any chance?
