This is so cute! I love the textures, and how simple, yet effective the whole picture is. It looks like it was done with pastels or something.

How adorable! Love the colors and the texture of the background. The red sets wonderfully against the hills. Last but not least, the cow is cute and deserves to be hugged. Good job.
I love the simplicity yet depth of this piece.
In my experience children's illustrations are often drawn with blocked lineart and hardly any detail and while this has been drawn in a similar way- it has such depth and texture, such shape and prominence in the colours and the way it has been shaded. It looks like a traditional gouache piece, perhaps ink with a sponge, yet it's so 'sketchy' and therefore beautiful. I could really see this intriguing a child's mind as I often think they have the strongest imaginations.
Also the hills kind of remind me of a dinosaur. ^^'
