Stars smiled like a million tiny pinpricks of light punched into a black and purple bruised canvas. A delicate breeze picked up and carried through an endless field of Dreamblooms, thousands of dancers’ skirts rustling over the gentle hills. A sense of frailty is present amongst the skirts and water’s whispers, the bruised canvas and quiet, smiling stars. With fluid steps and purple aura a bizarre lil’ beast cruises through the field, effortlessly avoiding the brush of a single bloom. He glides along as if with a sail, a ghostly precision. He is stitched together from a mishmash of animal hides and fabrics to form his body: A jackalope. His antlers fashioned from decayed and moss covered branches… He is the undead taxidermic work of an ethereal realm.

His name is Manit.

Manit’s field of Dreamblooms resides in a physical manifestation of the collective consciousness. Or in this case, the collective unconsciousness. Each night the Dreamblooms open, they glow like a miniature city against the black night. They smell heavenly, and their ‘skirts’ range from white to soft blues and purples. Dreamblooms however, are extremely delicate and many are prone to souring. Souring is the term given to Dreamblooms that rot and become, in this world, Nightmares. Souring can happen over a long period of time, or in an instant without any warning. Sour Dreamblooms turn a dark shade of red, and then black as they fester and rot. Manit prunes souring Dreamblooms before they have a chance to infect the rest of their vine. But if a Dreambloom has symptoms of souring ahead of time, Manit’s ability to visit dreams or appear through visions allows him to heal the sickly Dreambloom. Healing Dreamblooms is terribly complex, and requires a large deal of work. This is Manit’s job while in the Dreambloom Fields.

Finally. a much better pic of Manit. Mini Manit nonetheless (he has two forms; one deer-sized, one rabbit-sized)
