horms- Shire and Silas

I sculpted Liam a pair of antlers because he's a jackalope. The first two pair (the first wouldn't sit right on his head and so I had to sculpt a second pair )were tie on, but very unsatisfactory to me. They were mildly floppy, had trouble sitting up, and you could see the string. So I set to work finding a way to make a pair that I could attach right to the wig. I was *very* happy with the result, and just went to town make more styles of horns, figuring I could sell them, both here, and also since I'll be getting an artist alley table at Otakon.

I've been calling them 'Horms' since I kept misspelling 'horns' that way, and have become rather affectionate with the word ... Each pair is named after the character (mine or a friend's) that inspired them. Each pair is carefully and lovingly hand-sculpted from super-sculpey clay, and then hand painted with acrylic paints. They attach right to the wig, so there is no fussing with strings or flopping around, and they can easily be posed anywhere on the head. And they work great for big *and* little dolls. :3
