Well it looks like Lavender got yet another make over eh? Well this time its curtious of the anime Lyrical Magical Girl Nanoha and its two following seasons, Nanoha A+ and the newly airing Striker S.
To fill in some background for those who don't know about the anime its a good old fashioned magical girl anime but unlike others this one took my fancy very quickly. You see the mages in this show use technology to channel magical energy and thus create their spells. This is done by using a "Device" of one sort or another. I decided to take this concept and redo Lavender to use it.
Lavender's device then is known in the anime as a Union Device, so named because it allows their user to merge with their device thus creating much more powerful spells. Her device is known as Sato and can be seen flopped over her shoulder in the left hand pic. When she merges with him she gains her staff anf cloak like on the right.
This is the first time I've done two pics like this side by side. It's easy to do this using CG art, you can just copy and paste, but drawing two seperate pictures side by side and trying to get them nearly identical in every way is fricking tough. Took me a while to sketch this one but it was enjoyable. My scanner kinda blurred my colouring a bit but it looks like the shading came through ok this time.
