We were running. From what? From what we thought were the good guys. I was confused. We all were. We were fugitives, criminals, delinquents. And in the city we once protected. There was confusion. Horror. Chaos. I didn't know if I could take it.

We stormed across the hall. All four of us. They were close behind, the military that is. They were chasing like dogs. They looked blood thirsty. They wouldn't give up, and neither would we.

I tried to hurry, but I was slowly running out of breath. They were gaining on us. I told shadow to seal the door, where his "chaos manipulations" came in handy. We were safe, but only for the moment. The real threat was just ahead.

We made it outside, much to our appeal. Robotnik thought we wouldn't gonna make it, but at least our efforts proved him wrong. We scrambled for the Tornado, which was surprisingly unharmed, but beside it was...the "threat". Deathwish. That was his name. Or her. I couldn't tell what gender. It wasn't so obvious. I guess it was a he. Okay.

"He" just stood there, clapping. We didn't move. He was congratulating us, but I knew he had something planned. You could see it in those 'blank' eyes. Disgust. Fear. Death. It was written all over him. The eyes are the windows to the soul. It can speak for you sometimes. In his case, it said a lot. Any ways, He just stood there, clapping. "You've done excellent", he said. I saw Shadow's eyes. I knew it. He wanted to strike. He was holding back. That was rare. The clapping stop. He (Deathwish) turned serious. He had a mask, but, it's like, I could see through it. But yet I couldn't see what was on the other side. Awkward. "Give me the diamond", he said. Again it happened. The cold chill down my spine. I always got it when he spoke. Shadow breathed loudly, He was gonna do something, I thought. He didn't. I was relieved. We continued to stare. We said nothing. "NO?" I got scared. Shadow posed. He went on. "Fine. I'll let you leave. You can keep it....if you escape..." I got scared. But I had the gut to ask. "We can go?" "If you can make it," he continued, "Go on." We were gonna dip. Well, we wanted to, I just knew something was up. But as awkward as this guy was, we took him to be trustworthy...just a little, creepy.

"Just let him talk", I said. We did just that. I didn't want any more trouble. I couldn't afford it. I didn't need it on my conscience. Neither did my friends.

"This isn't over". Shadow told Deathwish that. I knew that too. It wasn't over. It was far from over.

"Can we really make it?" Amy was worried. She wasn't afraid to express it. I kept silent, but it was all over my face. At least dogs don't sweat.

"I have super nitro in here", I said reluctantly. I always relied on my machines. They always came through. Always. "He's probably just giving us a head start, or he wouldn't bother let us go. I just need three second and we'll blast outta here!" "Um...yeah...just be careful..." Shadow never always took my word for things, but it's something Sonic thinks too...I'm too positive about things. "Yeah", I said (positively), "I know you hate plane rides. Don't worry, I'm an expert pilot! Nothing can happen with me in the cockpit!" Crappy choice of words, or at least that's what Sonic would say, I guess I'd do that for confidence or just out of pride. No, esteem.

In just a few seconds we were off! "And now...Turbo!!" I put the gear into acceleration...in no time we were on the ground in flames. That's right. We crashed. Blown out of the sky. I was right after all. No, Shadow was. It wasn't over. It had just begun...
