Canine Quaylak Colored

Hm. Well, this took me a good amount of time, but I still don't feel it's really finished. Umm...I don't know if I like this very much. I haven't gotten down the whole idea of "texture" with colored pencils. Sure I can do it in black and white, but I'm not very good with it in color. Oh well, this was only my second time using colored pencil for a character. Honestly, it feels like the first time I've used colored pencil. EVA.

My inspiration came from looking through lots of other artists' galleries. When I say inspiration, I mean that when I saw other people's drawings, I wanted to draw too, especially in colored pencil since I'd never done it before. This style here is my own, as is the shitty coloring. e_e; I think I may have been subconsciously influenced by the vast multitudes of artwork I saw tonight, but nothing in particular. :3

This is my fursona in canid form. She's a border collie. In case no one is familiar with my fursona, she's basically (I say basically because she's really a creature of my own home-made species)a cheetah with the markings of a blue jay, simply because I lurv those two animals to death. Anyway. So yes, this is my border collie jay anthro. With no wings. And no crest. Like she should have had and that I just realized I forgot. Maybe next time.

Done on cardstock with prismacolor pencils, ink, and pencil.
