The Life of Kisha

[New Release]

A commissioned character theme.

Kisha is known as a "Storm" Dragon. Rather than go down the route of creating a violent epic and tense filled piece which would represent a thunderstorm, I decided to focus on the "Water" Aspect, seeing how she is Derian's adopted daughter (a previous song called The Dragons Dance).

I wanted to create a rainfall effect, hence the descending bassline chords along with the arpeggios on the harp with each chord change. The middle section goes into a 4/4 time signature to reflect upon growth and progressing in life. Strings/Choirs and the Piano play a large part in crafting the melody of this interesting character.

Whilst she's based on storms/water, she's also playful by nature, so you'll hear some clichéd staccato riffs in there to depict a sort of cartoon scene.

Her interests in easy going subjects like reading and writing also reflect upon the timbre of the simplicity yet thoughtful progressions on the string sections (like the augmented minor9th runs at certain spots), as well as the soft piano solo in the middle.
