Well... I'm submitting this in the hopes that it will get more than the usual 20 views or so. I put a lot of effort into this one, and it took me a lot of hours to complete.
This is a different style from me. When I was originally drawing it I was just planning on doing the usual cel shading, but then I started fooling around with values and I fleshed him out in black and white. He ended up looking really nice so I attempted to add some color, which proved to be more complicated than I planned. I think the end result was pretty nice though. I'm still not very good at backgrounds-- thus the random abstract stuff going on.
Anyway... I'm hoping to recieve some feedback with this one, so any comments are very much appreciated... thanks guys ;D

Real backgrounds are very difficult I think. :( Great job on the shading, too. The face has a realistic with a twinge of fantasy. Overall great job.

I wish I could offer some worthwhile feedback, but like you said this is a new stylization attempt on your part, so there's going to be a lot of experimentation. I was looking at this, and in my mind, this could really do well with a less abstract background. The subject looks angry, and covered in blood, but being as I've such a strong preference for comics, animation, and illustration, I get the feeling a burning village would've been a fantastic background image given the subjects appearance. Anyway, keep it coming.

very awesome with those textures :) i duno i think that the hair kinda looks boring compared to the rest of ur picture, like it lacks detail compared to everything else, cuz all the other aspects contain a lot of detail like his skin and blood

I have to say I'm a little surprised by the lack of more comments on this piece of work. The shading and detail is pretty stunning to create a vibrant piece that melds the subtle markings and details on the clothing and hair, to the abstract form of the background.
