Someone has to give the Kidd some coverage in this day and age.
For some reason I suddenly had a bit of a Sega Master System revival recently. I have a few pre-Sonic the Hedgehog Sega platformers and this little guy was at the top of them all in my collection - I remember when Alex Kidd was the closest Sega had to a proper mascot, and Sonic was still just a glint in Yuji Naka's eye.
I was a big fan of
'Alex Kidd in Miracle World' and as far as I know I
still haven't finished the game, 15 years on.
After buying
'Alex Kidd in High-Tech World' and
'Alex Kidd in Shinobi World' on Ebay this week, I feel obliged to produce some fanart of the long-forgotten Kidd. So here we are - The 8-bit star in his 'High-Tech World' costume, sideburns and all.
Oh, one final note: The background of the pic is designed to bear a resemblance to the old Master System game box designs in case anyone was wondering.

lol, i remember the kidd. those games were near impossible to complete. got turned into a ghost more times than i cared to remember.

That game was well hard, and for before Sonic, it plays very good. Supprisingly it had elements way ahead of its time, most people forget that it's only recently that sub-genres in platform games is common, Alex Kidd had bull fighting, bike racing, paper-scissors-stone and a whole gamult of gameplay additions, including a very extensive list of power ups and such.

I think the distinctive background gave it away, that and you're one of the few Retro gaming fans I know at Sheezy!
You know I LIKED the Alex Kidd games, but they sure were difficult at times >_<

hey cool i remember playing alex kid, think its was on a friends MS the game was built in and my god that game was hard, just shows you should never bash a game cause of the graphics, i dont think i could even pass level 2 *might have been alex kid 2 or 1* nice work on this rich
