Ribbit and Fly ...WIP...
It was a bright morning, but even though the sun was shining, Ribbit felt a little sad. There was nothing wrong with his pancakes. There was nothing wrong with his juice. Ribbit just felt that it'd be nice to share them with someone.
He pushed the thought out of his head and walked outside. As Ribbit walked down the street he saw his neighbour Fox playing catch with a rabbit. At the playground Ribbit saw birds, raccoons and other little frogs playing, but they all seemed to already have a friend. This made Ribbit sad.
Suddenly Ribbit had an idea. Why can't there be a group of three? Ribbit walked up to two little birds on the teeter totter.
"Can I play with you?" asked Ribbit.
"There isn't enough room," said one little bird.
Suddenly Ribbit had another idea. He could play by himself. Ribbit hopped onto an empy teeter totter, but it didn't work with just one. Ribbit hadn't really wanted to play on the teeter totter anyways.
Instead Ribbit would play on the swing-set. Ribbit hopped onto a swing, but he wasn't big enough to move himself. As much as he pumped his legs, he didn't move an inch. He leapt off and looked for something else to play.
Ribbit picked up a ball. He would play catch! Throwing it as high as he could, Ribbit raced to catch it. Throwing it in the air again, he raced to catch it but missed. For some reason he wasn't having as much fun as the others that were playing catch.
He gave up. Shuffling home, Ribbit didn't watch where he was going. He felt a little bump on his tummy, but didn't care. Although he didn't know it, he had bumped into a little fly. The fly had been knocked unconscious and fell into Ribbit's bag.
Sighing as he opened the door, Ribbit dropped his bag. He didn't notice the small 'ow' from the now awake fly. Ribbit walked into the kitchen and pulled out a glass of milk and some cookies.
"Can I have some too?" Asked a little voice.
"Sure." Ribbit gave the fly a glass.
"Thanks, I'm Fly." Fly nibbled on a cookie.
"I'm Ribbit! Would you like to stay here?"
Fly thought for a second then flew out the window.
Ribbit sighed. No one would be his friend. He was stacking up the dishes and getting ready to do them when he heard a light knocking on his door. Still moping, he opened the door.
"Hello again." Fly stepped in, dragging a suitcase.
"But... didn't you leave?" Ribbit looked down at Fly uncertainly.
"I had to get my stuff." Fly flew into the kitchen. "Need any help with the dishes?"
Ribbit smiled and nodded, and the two of them walked into the kitchen together.
