With all the practice w/ refs I've been dishing out ( well, I've really only done 3 of them >_>; ), I felt it was time to try realism without refs. :]
K, the anatomy of his face is ALL WRONG, I know D: I'm still used to drawing anime-like, so I couldn't help that here. >:U

don't beat yourself on the anatomy! I love this! Simple, yet charming. I like the fact the face leans more towards realism and not too much on the whole anime style (which I don't care for) I especially like the ring around his head. It's like he has a halo, but it's so light that the everyday passing by him may never notice it.

That little wing looks so cute, the skin tone looks great with the darkness all around. The face looks fantastic, you're just CRAZEH >:U

You've got a good grasp on realism, you just need a bit more practice. The face however looks like it's too bright, and it kinda looks as though it's floating above the rest of the body - maybe you could match it with brighter highlights on the lower half of his neck and collarbones to match the highlighted face. Otherwise, great start
