I'm the cartoonist for my school's newspaper, so these are some of the ones I've done so far. Some of these cartoons may seem a bit insulting if the article is not next to it, so I'll explain each one.
1) This first cartoon is about how satires sometimes have bad taste. There was a skit on SNL (the guy's hat says MAD, because the writer first thought it was MAD, but later we checked it up to find it was from SNL) about Girls Gone Wild in the Hurricane Katrina areas.
2) This second cartoon was for the same article, but the editors said it was not very self-explanatory, so I had to draw the one above for it instead. What I meant for it to be is that children may watch these satires and not understand that it is a joke, and copy them in real life.
3) This was for an article on awareness of sexual harrassment in the workplace. This isn't an editorial, more of an artwork illustrating some points.
4) This was for an article making fun of the after Thanksgiving sales. The cartoon was bumped because of a change in top stories... so the article and cartoon was replaced with number 7 on here.
5) Not an editorial... just a lil drawing I did for the Special Feature page.
6) A cartoon for an opinion article about keeping Sustained Silent Reading (a 20 minute reading period in our school), because no one really reads during that time. This was not published yet because the whole issue was bumbed since one of our top stories had major issues in it... We were doing a story on Lisa Tucker, a girl at our school who is one of the top singers so far on American Idol.... but Fox hasn't replied back to us to say if we could use a picture of her on it... because apparently American Idol owns her now...
7) This is my favorite one, it's about the news being more interested in dumb things like Jessica Simpson's divorce from Nick then real news.

My favorite part of this would have to be the same one as yours. The media's obsession with celebrities is really quite pathetic!
