Created in Corel Painter. This is an experimental piece. I wanted to try something different. It has a Comic-book feel to it, and I worked on it with that in mind.
The story: When I was drawing this I thought of a man broken by the death of a loved one. He kneels in the mud, pouring out his grief and praying for his own death. One of God's creatures lends an ear and appears at the site. The angel of death always carries his sword, No man, woman or child can stand against it. He will give this man a choice. He sends a poisenous serpent to inflict the deadly wound. Will the man accept what he wished for or will he fight back for his life?

Well,.... that's my story.

Wow...even in the thumbnail it was clear that the grief was destroying him. I like that you leave him a choice, in this story--that keeps it from ever being confused with a lot of the emo garbage that floats around here. Those moments of choice are what define us and you capture it well.

I liked the work itself, but it's the story that really won it over for me interest wise. Never payed a large amount of attention to it before, but it does add to the piece.
