2 of 6 from my Pussycat Dolls series

This is Nicole, what most of you may recognize as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls. Attempt number 3 in my realism drawing I think I'm gradualy getting better =3 As usual my shading gets picked apart when scanned :( please don't be too harsh on that when giving my constructive crit, it blends much better in real life (the shading on paper I mean )... anyways, yeah >_>

I think I may attempt either Ashley or Melody next :3

If you give me critque I'm looking for more tips on realism drawing, some ways to fix up my anatomy for next time, and if possible some highlighting tips

Wonchop Says:

If I had to critique something, it's that some of the shading makes em look like scary old ladies.
Unless of course they actually look like that, in which case spot on

unholydragon Says:

mouwahahaha that's great! you did so well :) must have taken a lot of time to do all that hair O:

as for critics I'm not any good since I don't see anything wrong x3

KankuroXLyndzay Says:

Ok i don't want to be rude and i just want to make a little thing that I noticed, their mouths aren't big enoug, they look to flat and short.
I hope that you don't mind me making this little critique. Still what a HOT picture!!

Runesman Says:

looks good.

Kimiko chan Says:

Hum, well I like this one better then the the Carmit picture, its a bit hard for me to give you tips on realism though since I'm not that great at it myself ^^''..Buuttt one thing I can say is that I think your main problem lies in the facial structure. I'd recommend you to practice alot with faces, especially the nose and mouth *which I realize are really hard to make realistic looking* but as of right now they aren't working for the realistic factor, for the nose I would just recommend try blending things out more, instead of outlining the nose try to shade it in and see if it looks like a nose without having to give it an outline ^^' The mouth is a little uneven as well so try to fix that if you can :3
Hum..if you want, here are some references to realistic black and white pencil drawings I've seen in the past:
Amazing Harry Potter Pencil
Marilyn Monroe
Halle Close-up
Almost photographic looking eye *I swear I thought this was a photograph..even now I keep thinking it is *
And I also found a tutorial, I don't know how much it will help you, but maybe it will:
Part 1 of 4
As the title says, there are 4 parts and the guy links each part in the description, as well as explain each part in the description, and if u check out their gallery they've got other tutorials that might help you :3

Anyway, the thing with making things look realistic, especially with pencil realism, is that you have to put alot of time and effort AND patience into making it look the way it should, if you really want to improve you have to be willing to put in that extra effort and have enough patience to keep at it :3

Hitokiri Says:

well, my realism sucks majorly so this might mean nothing coming from me but...I think it looks pretty good!
I like the volume the hair has, the only thing you would need to do is add some shine to it. And the lips need some practice (it took me FOREVER to get my realism lips decent )...but it still looks awesome!

Kratosgirl Says:

It looks pretty good :) this is one of my favorite pieces :) Bah i would give cristism, but what good is that if i suck at realism...i wouldn't have any idea what i would be telling you oo;
