This is my first try at Corel Painter. I hope the colors look right. The JPEG looks so much worse than the original. I wasn't trying to make this a masterpiece. My main focus was on learning how to use the colors and brushes. I painted what I was most comfortable with,..... a horse.

No references were used for anything. It took me maybe four hours or so. I know my desert looks a bit plain, but I guess it's not terrible for a first.
Enjoy.

Wow, that looks great! It looks like there's sand actually blowing off of the rocks o-o

Love it. Only thing I would have liked to have seen would be some dust moving though the air, since the hair is blowing. Also, I don't know if I have my perspecitive right, but the clouds appear to be blowing in the opposite direction of the hair. Otherwise, love the colors and overall picture.

I'd say not too bad for a first try! Though it's relatively non-detailed, you still managed to put in some nice effects- the feel of the weather was excellently done.

This is definitely something different in comparison to a lot of your recent work. I love the deep ruddy colors of the desert juxtaposed with that subdued grey/blue sky, as well as the sheen on the horse's coat.
