Several tests of me doing British accents. Lines were taken from various scenes of "My Fair Lady" spoken by Eliza Doolittle.
This is so I can beef up an accent for

's radio play of War of the Worlds. Want to him to have something better? Go audition!
And please leave comments other than "hey you're funny" or "blawl rox0rz!"

hmmmm i dunno, it didn't sound british to me. More or so southern and such. Try another character other than Eliza, because as much as I love that play, I can't stand how she says her words in the beginning
I wouldn't go with the traditional cockney accent as its damn hard for anyone non-British to pull off. You kinda sounded a bit Australian in a few bits there. I'd suggest you don't TRY and be British but BE British. Try taking softer accents like Kate Winslets or Helena Bolna Carters accents as a jumping point.

One thing to keep in mind is that a "British accent" is like an "American accent" -- they vary depending on what part of the country you come from, like how you can definitely tell apart a northern accent from a southern accent. Of course, I honestly couldn't tell you what accent comes from where, but keep in mind that there are variations.
Just think of Helena Bonham Carter's natural accent vs. Christian Bale's or Michael Caine's. You might have better luck "sounding British" to others trying to sound something more like one of those two.
