Ch.13 Last First Kiss

As we finally pulled away, it felt like minutes... hours...but it was only a couple of seconds, I was completely stunned. I mean, I've kissed before but... none of them felt like this. I looked to Jacey and he smiled, looking to me.

He asked, "Was it just me...or did that...totally blow you away too?" he looked so cute, slight blush across his cheeks.

All I could do was stutter and try to spit out words. After a few failed attempts at doing so, I just nodded and blushed. When I finally got my act together I said, "I have a feeling....that will be my last....first kiss." I blushed and leaned close to him again, "Jacey..." I paused and lost my words once his eyes were looking directly at mine.

He was at a loss as well, I could tell because he didn't have his typical I know it all smirk on his face. He kept expecting me to say something, to continue but he didn't press it for once.

I chuckled and blushed, looking down at our hands; somehow they found each other and held on tightly. I looked up to him, and he shined so brightly I leaned into him and pulled him back with me so we lay on the bed. He ran his hands through my brown hair and snuggled close to me. Finally I said, "Jacey, do you think we could make it...forever...?"

He shrugged and replied, "We can make it as long as we will it." He looked up to me, a side of him I hadn't seen before. He was so very innocent, "I'd like to make it forever..." the blush stayed on his face but his sincerity overwhelmed me in his eyes.

I sucked in a shaky breath and nodded, "Okay... I think I can do that." I smiled and yawned, tired again? I groaned and hugged him closer, "Why am I so tired? Tell me Jacey!" I said and wiggled around a lot. He just laughed and shrugged. The room grew quite and the air still. Next thing I knew... My alarm was going off.

"Ngh...Wha..." I opened my arms and let go of Jacey who started to stir as well, "Gosh...what time is it...?" I questioned and at up to look at the clock, it was six thirty. "Monday ...already?" I groggily sat up and scratched my side, I could have sworn there was a Sunday soon.... Oh well. Jacey rubbed his eyes and wandered to the bathroom while I changed out of my clothes and headed to the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast.

Once we were done with morning stuff we set off to school, hand in hand. We got a few awkward stares but for the most part, no one really cared. I felt invisible but it was similar to invincible because I had someone by my side. With a wide grin we separated at the gates to get to our first classes. I have a feeling today is going to be great.

By the time Drama class cane along, I had a good day. All my teachers called me up to talk with them but I'm actually doing fine in their classes and passing. I saw Jacey in the hallway a few times, I tried to call to him, but I figured we can talk later.

The moment I stepped in Drama class and saw the other drama teacher in there, my heart lurched and I stopped dead in my tracks, what the hell...? I slowly slinked over to Jacey who leaned over and whispered, Mr. Devin is in a teacher meeting for today...no worries. He smiled and grabbed my hand and steadied his attention to Mr. Warstoky, the sub for Thayne.

That class seemed to go on forever seeing as how Warstoky just talked and talked about nothing of interest. I seriously thought I was going to fall asleep if it weren't for Jacey constantly poking me. When the bell rang I practically sprang up and got out of the classroom as quickly as possible whilst dragging Jacey behind me. We parted for our last class before lunch and I wandered to my class and plopped down, still drowsy from the last class.

The lunch bell rang in no time and I hopped up and walked quickly out of the classroom and for the main hall. Jacey and I agreed to meet there for lunch when we parted. As I waited for him I leaned against the wall and snacked on a granola bar. Watching the kids walk by I got rather interesting looks, more so than usual. Five minutes passed and I hadn't heard anything from Jacey...not a phone call, note... nothing.

I cleared my throat and decided to wander up to the roof myself. I took the long way around, maybe I'd bump into him? No such luck. With a sigh I walked up the stairs and through the huge double doors to see someone not Jacey. I tilted my head and put the wrapper of my granola bar in my pocket before advancing further to take a seat a few feet away from the person.

He seemed rather depressed, maybe something happened? I looked up to him and felt a familiarity. Short brown hair...tall, lean built. As I stared longer at him, it dawned on me... I do know this person. I sat up then stood and looked up to the man slowly. With a pause and hesitation I walked to him and stood next to him. "What did you do to your...hair?" I asked, looking to him to the side.

He shrugged and said, "I went to the stylist...to get it cut..." he cleared his throat and kept his vision forward, he seemed sad.

"I see," I paused and looked to him fully, "Why?" I titled my head and leaned my weight on the railing, crossing a foot over the other and getting comfortable.

He shrugged and finally looked at me, his deep brown eyes were staring right at me, "No use in holding on...so, I cut it..." he sighed and subconsciously twirled his short hair. " I only kept it, because you liked it...Caleb."

I felt slightly ashamed and blushed as I looked down to my feet and nibbled on my lower lip, "I'm sorry Thayne..." I looked up to him and chomped at the inside of my cheek before sucking in a breath, "So, are we going to be different...?" I looked up to him, feeling kind of scared.

He just shook his head and said, "Nope..." he paused and moved slightly, "I'm going to have you as mine..." he suddenly grew stern and turned to face me, I backed away but he grabbed me quickly and held on to me, "I will prove you wrong. Jacey is not for you..." he glared and let go of me, turning and walking away into the double doors.

I tried to gasp for breath but soon found; I had none. I fell to know my knees and clutched my collar. I soon felt myself shake. I don't think I have ever been threatened in such a way to make me cower.

Soon enough Jacey came running up the stairs all frazzled. He held his books just barely and smiled, "Ahg! Caleb help me!" I soon scrambled to my feet and ran over to Jacey to help him with his books, "Thank you!"

I nodded and smiled, "Of course....where were you at?" I tilted my head very curious as to where he was. Maybe I'm being over protective because of Thayne...I guess I'm letting him get to me.

Jacey rolled his eyes, "One of my teachers called me into a student-teacher meeting and she wanted to give me harder work blah blaaaah~" he concluded and smiled, looking over to me. "How are you?"

"How am... Oh, I'm alright." Just as I said that the bell rang for next period, "Here, let me help you." I picked up a few of his books and stood up, "c'mon..." I extended a hand to help him up and lead him to his next classroom.

As I sat in the chair of my next class I couldn't help but think of what Thayne had said to me. Why is he so dead set on me? It's not like I did anything for him...like ever. I put my cheek in my hand which was resting on the desk. For the next to hours, I didn't hear a word anyone said. I only heard echoing sentences from the past as I dug into my memories to try and get an answer to "why...Me?".
