"Wow "shouted the 16 year old enthusiastic swordsman named Hideaki as he gazed at his great grand fathers sword in a glass case and the painting of the battle above it whilst his friend, Chikako, looks at him with a bewildered expression on her face.
"Why are you looking at that sword as if it was made of gold Hideaki" his expression changed from confused to discontent and impatience.
"Don't you know the legend of this glorious kitana? It was my great grand fathers, the one that saved Japan from the evil dictator Ken"
"Yea of course I do but what ever happened to Ken I mean the story has been told ever since it happened but it never said where hen went after he was left to bleed to death."
"Em well" Hideaki's explanation was cut short, an empyreal swordsman came in and shouted "all swordsmen at arms the town is under attack from bandits" he ran out and joined the soldiers on stand by.
Hideaki put on his armour and went for his sword but it was nowhere to be found, Hideaki panicked, it was the first time the village was under attack since the days of the rebellion and he couldn't find his sword. He hears a crash a bandit had made it to the house, he ran to the sword stand broke the glass and swung the sword at the bandit , the blade made no contact but the bandit was cut deep in the chest, Hideaki noticed this but he had no time to contemplate it, the village was under attack.
Hideaki ran outside where buildings were on fire and bodies lied lifeless, the bandits were at large and the empyreal soldiers falling by the handful. "Hideaki" he heard from the building behind him, it was Chikako, she was on the 3rd floor and the building was on fire.
"Jump Chikako, I'll catch you." Chikako takes a stride and jumps out of the building and without fail Hideaki catches her and places her beside him. She pulls out a shield and sword and watches his back, they begin fighting there way into the bandits, killing many of them as the soldiers around them fall, Hideaki shouts " fallow me" but before Chikako could ask where he was going he was out of sight leaving Chikako to fight off hundreds maybe thousands of bandits with nothing but the remainder of the villages defences.
Hedeaki runs and fights his way through the bandits as fast as he can to a house on the outskirts off the city, he falls to his knees to see it is in ruin and his father Hidyoshi lying their in his own blood but in his momentary weakness a bandit decided to take advantage of the fine opportunity, but before he could even life his oversized blade, an arrow hits him, and the firer says to Hedeaki "get up, nothing could be done" whilst whacking him over the head lightly with his bow, it is his sensei, Katsu, " you couldn't defend them, I tried but there was a man significantly different from the others there and he was a master swordsman, he appeared to be the leader of the venomous group."
"Sensei Katsu please hurry we are being overwhelmed in the main courtyard" it is Chikako and she is badly injured, she sees Hedeaki and remembers what happened "HIDEAKI you left me to fight a small army with under 100 men.... "She notices his facial expression and then notices that they were in his parents house," Hedeaki, are you ok"
He stands up and looks at her with an eerie smile and replies "there was nothing that could be done, I tried" and as he looks behind Chikako he sees the flames and his smile turns to anger. He shouts "FATHER" as he runs back into the city with his great grandfathers sword in hand and a crazed anger in his eyes. When he runs into the battlefield he starts cutting the enemies numbers in half, with an all mighty roar he screams and, as if his anger incarnate, waves of sheer power wave across the ground, killing all the bandits in the village, but strangely leaving the few villagers and soldiers unharmed, Hideaki had passed out among the dead, friend and foe alike with the buildings around him collapsing.
