This picture is really depicting how I was feeling not long ago.

I was going through this phase, which I'm sure ALL artists must go through at some point in their life, where I just kept feeling very confused about what I want to do with art, where do I want to go with it? Should I stick to one style? Should I depict certain things, depict whatever I want, should I make my work look 'presentable' or will that spoil my art? Is the art I do now really me? Or do I need to find something else to work with?

sooo many questions, so many differwent paths, soooo confusing! I was constantly thinking about how I should use my artistic abilitys, if I was using them in the right/wrong way, it forced me to question my entire art ideals and myself as well.

I'm sure all of you have gone through this, or will go through it at some point. When your an artist you need to expand your horizons and create new ideas, but it means your passion leads you to question yourself or the way you work, and make you feel confused as to who you are or what path you are taking.

Thankfully I'm over that phase now, someone gave me great advice--tp not worry about it so much---as an artist, I should be able to just do as I please in art, and not feel restricted to one thing. I felt more free that way, I hope all of you can take the advice as well when you feel confused :)

Man...I will totally agree with all you've said there. There isn't an artist around who doesn't question his or her own ability at least once in life.
