The Dragons Dance

"We sing by day,
we dance by night,
we are the dragons,
all wisdom and might."

A Commission I did for someone as a character theme. In terms of putting a theme together, Dragons are always a lot of fun to work with, because of their natural traits of having a sort of Majestic Aura about them. With Derian (the name of the dragon), it isn't any different, however what I've done is incorporate a little bit of sound which one would expect of the Ocean/sea... thus a Marimba. The lead instrument is called a "ShakuHachi", used often in the Carribean and Asia. The 6/8 time I think works well in order to create the rhythm of rolling waves, but also the flying/majestic feel of a dragon.

I won't bore you with any more details, have fun listening, as I had fun composing this.
