These are some color comps of the winged monkeys (sorry there's so many). Please tell me which one's you feel are working the best (don't worry about the style), and/or which ones you and/or hate. All opinions are helpful, 'cause to tell you the truth they'll affect what I do for the finished pieces.

Thanks

Luminance Says:

I told you the ones I liked on DA. So the ones I hate and hope you don't use are 1, 2, and 23. They're too low-key and low contrast, I can't tell enough what's going on.

shionyr Says:

4, 5, 8, and 24. Those are good! Clear reads, non-clashing colors. If you want something edgier and less naturalistic go with 9.

I'd say don't use any where the value of the eyes is identical to, or lighter than, the value of the face. 2, 7, 11, 23, and 25, for example, are definite no-nos.

If you want glowing eyes it might help to balance out the other values and make the eyes CLEARLY brighter. Are the colors on 11 an inversion of the colors on 10?

In any case, the eyes are the most crucial part of the character and they should be a significantly different value than the surrounding facial features.

Also watch that the values of the interior details aren't all analogous, like in 1, 2 and 23.

druidstwilight Says:

Lumi's right, you need balance......writing this as a reminder to myself, tilt girly.

Riot13O Says:

5 and 10 are my personal favorites. They scream "evil flying monkey" to me.

FyreNWater Says:

i really like the colors in #3. the hair would look better if it was a tad darker, IMO.
love the glamish style. i never thought it would work with something as silly as winged monkies, but i guess i'm wrong!

tarock Says:

I really like 21 and 22. 21 makes her look a bit radioactive, or just sick.
